It is why I don’t rank yearly snow totals high on my winter board. It can heavily skew what the winter truly is/was.

As frustrating as it has been, long ways to go still. No reason to invest in any threat until it’s close even if the pattern sucks...but that doesn’t mean it’s over. We’ve had some big events pop in bad patterns and bad winters.

Sitting at 16” myself. It’s agonizing, but watch us add another 40” once the dam breaks.

Silver lining in all of this is that eventually the rubber band snaps back in future winters and with more authority. So, we’ll just have to sacrifice several ratters in a row to get there.

Yup. 10 days to start Dec of wintry like conditions and that’s it. The heart of winter ratted.

Some seasons they work out fairly well but this season has been brutal for anything past like d3 lol.

Of course he’ll take a good Mar event but the point is there is zero reason to frantically review every run for possible positivity at this stage. If it comes, it comes...but that’s the extent of it.

I was referencing my area more so as there is no reason for delays here but I’m asking you because you would know where schools get their forecasts from. Privately or from the NWS?

Some schools around here were delayed...from cold rain.

For NNE yes. SNE is pretty much skunked because even if a magical scooter high appears for a particular event...the seasonal trend of amping a shortwave while shoving out the high quickly will continue.
