  1. Hope they don't get a TOR in Torrington...
  2. Turned into a TOR warning? WTF I'm just south of that 'box' = a little distant muffled thunder is all that I've heard from it, but sun came out here.
  3. And thunder in Litchfield County, CT. Not a lot of it, though (unlike the Boston area).
  4. I will be doing my part next week by running my new-ish portable air conditioner. BTW, I was not paying close attention to the forecast, thinking that any rain would hold off until later this afternoon, and so I was taken by surprise to hear the heavy rain that moved in a short time ago. Hoping that we still get some thunderstorm activity later on.
  5. Not to mention the insane growth of the grass - usually can get away with not mowing the lawn until the first week of June, but not this year.
  6. Just noticed that the WU forecast moved the anticipated onset of thunderstorms earlier by at least several hours - but it did so by extending the potential duration of the thunderstorm activity rather than by merely shifting it earlier. So, perhaps there may be 'fun' times ahead, from early this afternoon through the evening hours.
  7. The lightning activity in western CT looks better on the map than it appears to be "in person". Still, waking up to a thunderstorm is a nice touch...
  8. Returning thunderstorm certainly surprised me… I think that I saw stars in the sky through a big hole in the clouds, with lightning around it.
  9. Even though the lightning map and the radar looked crazy (in Washington Depot near the Morris line) it never really ‘delivered’ here.
  10. And we’re warned - radar showing an offshoot from the ENY storm fingering Litchfield County with fairly frequent lightning strikes shown on the map - still southwest of me at the moment in New Milford and no thunder heard yet.
  11. Too close to sunrise to get really good lightning views here - the storm is pretty impressive on radar and not that far away, but have not yet even heard any thunder.
  12. Hearing distant thunder in mid-Litchfield County - probably from the Watertown area - we missed most of the action here today.
  13. Sun came out in Litchfield County, followed by thunderstorms springing up.
  14. Yes, it looks pretty eerie here... You must be hearing muffled distant thunder as well... (but maybe it's not that distant from you)
  15. The lightning map looks 'spicy' - and even though I am apparently miles and miles away from the nearest strokes shown on the map, I am hearing distant low rumbles...
  16. Looks like Long Island Sound is getting soaked - but soon enough it should be hitting CT.
  17. The radar looks interesting but at least in this area of Litchfield County the lightning seems pretty anemic - maybe the Danbury area is getting a better light show. I suppose it could change as the evening goes on…
  18. Tell us how you really feel (I'm right there with you.)
  19. In Bantam and Litchfield right now, headed towards Harwinton and Torrington...
