Hurricane Agnes

Just missed 90 for a high today (made it to 89) and it's currently 80 with dp a much better 61.

Dews finally got back below 70 as drier air mixes in. Currently partly sunny (with a mix of cumulus and contrails) and 86 with dp 67.

And the sun just popped out briefly as the skies clear. Currently a deck of cirrus overhead with some breaks allowing the sun to pop in and out, and 75 with dp 72.

Did a what the hell check and found a PA Drought monitor status published last week (am guessing a new one might issue today). Definitely reflects the issue here in NW Philly as much of the rain and pop-ups have concentrated south of where I am. I know that over th weekend, a "Drought Watch" had been declared and heavily advertised on KYW for Jersey, but we have our issues here on this side of the river. I eeked out another 0.01" and stand at 0.59" at post time, with the heaviest rains now all over NJ. Currently misty and 72 with dp 72.

Congrats! I am happy for my now 0.58". Gives me a few days before a need to water again, and with the temps progged to be lower, that will help too. Was gonna reluctantly pull out the hose today and now can wait. Currently a misty 73 with dp 72.

Miracle of miracles - leave the patio umbrella up and get 0.44 of rain when I first checked this morning. Popped out quickly and put it down so the rain can hit stuff that was just under the umbrella's canopy. Currently 72 with light rain and dp 72, and so far am up to 0.50" in the bucket.

I managed to just eek out one more 90 today just before 1:30 pm, to add to the tally - #8 for August (#28 since May). It was a bit more unsettled this afternoon with some stratocumulus that kept the sun obscured much of the time and holding the temps down. Otherwise there's nothing really on the radio that suggests the "r" word. It's currently mostly cloudy, with breaks of sun, and 87 with dp 72.

My final high yesterday was 97 and this morning's low was 75. The frontal passage that netted me ZERO, not even a courtesy "40 drops", did mix out some of the humidity somewhat and it's currently a sunny 87 with dp 70 (instead of the mid-upper 70s).

Peeped out and am getting lightning but no thunder or cloud liquid...

Sun out and partly cloudy. Temp is 84 with dp 74. I figured I jinxed it by putting down my patio umbrella.

Further south from me in the city has gotten more rain that I have. The stuff starts approaching the hills of NW Philly and just shreds. Am hoping that maybe something will evolve out of that next batch still out west.

Watching a loaded popcorn ball passing about 5 miles to my NE with NADA here. Temp is now "down to" 86 with dp 74.

I have a band of virga over me. It's dropped the temp to 89 and dp to 75 but not much else (yet).

That's if it doesn't fizzle by the time it gets here, which has happened with 9/10 popcorn lines.

Mine hit 113 as a max at some point today. It's currently 96 with dp 76.

Hit 95 at noon and am currently at 96 with dp 77. Have officially been transported to Houston, TX!

Hit 90+ day #7 for August (#27 since May) around 10 am. Had to throw some water on a few container plants and it was pretty brutal out there. Currently sunny and 90 with dp 77.

My final high yesterday was 95 and my "low" (in quotes) this morning was 78. And we're off to the races this morning with a mostly sunny 85 and a dp of 76.

Well have so far hit 93 as a high for today (90+ day #6 for August, #26 since May), and am currently partly sunny with lots of cumulus, and 92, with dp 76 (my station is listing a "Feels like" of 104.4).

Looks like I may have bottomed out at 77 and it's currently partly sunny and 78 with dp 76.

I hit a surprising 93 just after 3 pm and thankfully the dews mixed out and fell out of the mid-upper 70s down to the low 70s. It's currently mostly sunny and 89 with dp 71.

At about 11:48, I briefly tapped 91, and it's currently 91 with dp still 77. I'm not even going to venture out for that. That is now 90+ day #5 for August (#25 since May)

My "low" was 77 (may have been the warmest "low" this season so far) and I had the steamy windows early this morning to boot. Am off to the races at 84 already before 9 am, with dp 76!
