  1. That's hilarious. I remember when they finally released the film to buy in the fall of 1996 (just before DVDs were eventually made available in 1997), and I had already put together a Dolby Digital 5.1 home theater with an AC-3 laserdisc player and bought that on laserdisc. I used it, "Independence Day", "Jurassic Park", and "Forrest Gump" (all on laserdisc) as great "demo" movies for the sound (notably working out my subwoofer). That is definitely a movie. Well my temp has surpassed yesterday's high so far and am at 87. Dp is in the upper 50s, so not the sauna of yesterday (just popped outside and definitely a difference), but the sun is strong.
  2. Current temp here is now 86, which was my high for yesterday before the derecho came barreling through. This time there's nothing on the radar in the area at the moment to rain the temperature down, so will see how high I'll go.
  3. That came to mind to me too!! Off to the races this morning. Mostly sunny with temp up to 80 and dp in the sauna-like upper 60s.
  4. Great pic!!! When I was watching the little complex on radar coming down from the NW, it looked like 3 discrete cells that eventually congealed into a blob, with the cells still somewhat intact. One of the cells exhibited some rotation just before coming into Philly, which prompted the TOR. I didn't have my little convertible laptop with my GR2Analyst up and running to see what the volumetric view looked like (and how high-topped the cells might have been), but need to get that going in case we get more pulse-type stuff today. It might also get interesting next week with Cristobal remnants getting ingested in a Low progged to form in the midwest.
  5. This pretty much went south of me but I did get 0.05" of rain out of it. Starting to clear but you can see the dark clouds to the south and east of here. Temp is down to 71 but it's still a steambath with dews in the mid-upper 60s.
  6. Did a zoom on that timeframe as it was coming through.
  7. TOR just expired but KPHL reported a 68 mph gust.
  8. The heaviest stuff is rolling just south of me.
  9. This is a noisy storm. Popped outside and am hearing continual thunder and seeing some lightning flashes. The other one had a couple rumbles of thunder but this one is "blabby". Temp is down to 80.
  10. That should be interesting when sea breeze meets juiced-up stuff in front of a cold front.
  11. Looks like these 3 cells sortof congealed into a blob over northern Chesterco and is heading for Delco. I might get side-swiped by some of it on its northern fringe.
  12. It managed to recover to 83 here before the hazy overcast rolled in and dropped me down to 82. Juicy out though and there is some incoming on the radar if it holds together.
  13. Saw this posted on 6Abc's site (looks almost like that was a cell with some rotation and maybe even a funnel trying to start up) - Currently up to 79 here.
  14. Just heard Hurricane Schwartz on KYW and he mentioned some of the cells out in Central PA that may eventually migrate eastward to our are later tonight (not as a line but probably a bunch of discrete cells). Temp continues to increase and it is now up to 75 here and mostly sunny. Not sure if it will get back to the mid-80s by evening (like it was earlier today) but it is still juicy out there.
  15. Sun is out, peonies are down, and the sauna has commenced. Currently partly sunny and temp is up to 70 and rising, with dp 68.
  16. Wow. Straight-line winds? Sky is starting to clear here and the sun is trying to bust out. The temp is also starting to creep back up. Now at 68 and rising. Finished up with 0.27" from that round here. Most of the line is now off the coast of Jersey except the far southern portion that has been rolling through AC and south. A mesonet in Brick Ocean, NJ reported an 87 mph wind gust.
  17. Still getting some back edge rain and am up to 0.26" with light rain. Temps have still been holding at 67.
  18. KPNE reporting 68 mph gust and KPHL a 61 mph gust. Mesonet in Holmesburg reported a 71 mph gust. Temp here now down to 67. Also have 0.22" in the bucket.
