  1. I wondered the same and have likewise been impressed with his prognostication. With that said, I still miss Horst.
  2. And the Canadian, Ukie, and Euro aren't any better. We are left searching for glimmers of hope in this forgettable winter and yet.......nothing.
  3. Hit 21 on the car thermo through the low-lying rural spots.
  4. It really does. Warm and dry will likely be the norm more than not. You don't need to be a Met professor to know that formula doesn't exactly lend itself to snow ha.
  5. I was following the Mt. Washington stuff last night, just fascinating. I’ve always loved the Observatory’s website. Man what an extreme place and what a record to smash. Wow.
  6. All this talk of Mt. Washington, such a fascinating place. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the observatory up there manned year-round to take weather observations? Man, wouldn't it be something to be up there in the winter; talk about a feeling of isolation.
  7. 12z gfs and nam both backdoor the 850 -22 line solidly into lancaster county. Now, if we can just get the winds to slacken a bit and the skies to fully clear we could be onto something. I won't even think to ask for some fresh snow cover, as I know that's a bridge too far ha.
  8. I saw PHL officially recorded .3" of snow, thus ending their streak of consecutive days without measurable snow at 325.
  9. Well, it looks like my prediction from last week of MDT ending as the third warmest January on record was correct, just barely. But, my prediction of us getting measurable snowfall last night was not. Radar looked half decent through the night but it just wasn't materializing on the ground. Absolutely nothing at my house. Surprised to hear Nut got some out towards the northeastern part of the county. Well, things look to be a bit boring for a while. Should give me time to present my MU snowfall study that I've been promising for weeks but haven't yet delivered on haha.
  10. I concur. The 18z HRRR likes my .1" estimate for the LSV, so there's always that ha.
  11. Mrs. Snowman (that's a nod to @Itstrainingtime tehe) reports steady light snow on the home front. Radar looks half decent. Might be able to get .1" in the books before we even get to the overnight "potential". Hey, at least it looks like winter ha.
  12. Can confirm we had some brief snow showers roll through Harrisburg over lunch. That's all I got. Carry on.
  13. My wife reported white stuff falling from the sky as she dropped the boy off at preschool around 9am. I can neither confirm nor deny as I sit here in our capital city. Still think we might be in for a surprise measurable event tomorrow morning. Again, on the order of a couple tenths, but still....
  14. It will get ya every time ha. And yes I saw that HRRR depiction and I actually think we'll wake up to a measurable event Wednesday morning. Thinking somewhere in the .1-.3 range. Just a strong hunch I have.
  15. I was studying that myself. I still think we come in third place, as I mentioned last week, but gonna be close.
  16. Crikey, a national low of -59 at Peter Sinks, UT! When paired with the high of 90 at Pharr, TX that makes for a Lower 48 diurnal range of 149 degrees. Wowsers. I'm feeling less than enamored with the snow outlook. I need someone to find me some digital white..... @Blizzard of 93 @paweather @Bubbler86 anyone??
  17. Looks like about 43 my way. I have been reduced to one of those bird thermometers you stick to your window. It’s a sad state of affairs over here haha.
  18. Had the kids at the park today. If not for the wind it would have been a perfect March day. I’ll dive in more on the snow chances come Monday. Y’all enjoy championship Sunday. Cheers.
  19. After pouring over approximately 3,749 reports from various sources, I am going with a total snowfall yesterday of 1.2" on .7" liquid. All evidence of said event is gone. I think we're going to end up with the third warmest January on record at MDT. 1932 will be tough to ever beat for warmest, not sure what went down that year ha. National high of 88 at multiple locations in Florida and low of -28 in Angel Fire, NM. Cool beans.
  20. Unfortunately for you, only one of those scenarios represents our prevailing winds
  21. Just took the trash out and there is nary a trace of snow left anywhere in my development. Soooo that was fun while it lasted.
  22. Pouring rain here. Some nice training cells have popped up right over my location.
  23. Well that was a miserable walk in the rain to the train station. Looks like what fell here in Harrisburg will be mostly gone before long. Still nice to see some white. Onward.
