  1. I saw that hail core on the radar and thought of you. As far as I can tell no hail here but I was busy putting a toddler to bed so it’s possible I missed a brief bout.
  2. Heck of a light show here with gutter gushing rain. Impressive.
  3. I’ve got you pegged — you’re the operator of the Creekside Greenhouse on Donegal Springs Road.
  4. Not to quibble, but let's quibble haha. So, all my topo maps show downtown Maytown in the 400-420' range. Don't sass me with your 447' talk Judging from your listed elevation, I'm going to say you're out by the Donegal Springs Airpark?? Feel free to call me Stalker Snowman.
  5. Thanks fellas. I had definitely planned on storing the batteries in the garage so that's good to know ha. Ego is the brand sold by Lowes right? How are they with handling thick spots or slightly wetter grass or stuff like that? Enough power for all that while on self-propel? Anyone else have any personal experience with using them?
  6. No, even though there is some decent green nothing near the point of having to mow. Speaking of which, I'm in the market for an electric mower. Let me hear yinz' advice on what route to go. Who has personal experience and what would you recommend? Need to mow ~1/3 of an acre. Let's hear it boys, thanks!
  7. Yep. Even in our little neck of the woods down here, on strong inversion nights the top of Chickies Ridge (~600-700') will be a good 5-10 degrees warmer than the valleys down below around 300-400'. I've often found a shallow inversion sets up around the 500' level for us. @Itstrainingtime probably is less prone to noticing these extremes as I believe he is right below that 500' mark where the temp swings are more mitigated.
  8. Sitting here on the train as we pass through Etown. I hit 23 in the low lying rural spots on the way to the station. Strong inversion night. From my car thermo readings I would say it set up somewhere around the 500’ level.
  9. Your saltiness is warranted in that case haha. But man can that kid shoot the rock, such a smooth quick stroke (cue the dirty jokes). I fear Penn State used up all of its good mojo in that A&M game. I mean, how often do we see a team shoot lights out from three in back to back games, which is what I think they may need to do again to have a chance. But hey, that's why they play the games.
  10. That and they have an absolutely brilliant point guard who plays with unmatched poise.
  11. No, you're right. He is wrong a LOT haha. I think he gets a pass because he's so likeable and he's just goofy 'ol Chuck. Fair or not ha.
  12. Man, as much as I love Chuck he is always woefully ill-prepared with the NCAA analysis this time of year. It's like they force him to do it. They should just keep him on the NBA stuff but I know they want to leverage his personality and TV chops. I get it but it's just not his wheelhouse. Side note, got to love when Clark Kellogg gets brought down from the attic and dusted off every year around this time
  13. No ha. But honestly, ya never know. Never wise to bet against a hot team! Although the 'ol "live by the three, die by the three" keeps entering my mind.
  14. How 'bout it!? Man what a performance. I don't even know how to feel, as we never get to witness anything like that from PSU basketball. I'm just all out of sorts haha.
  15. Haha thanks pal. It really is just a matter of time right now with the kiddos being so young. Sleep can be rough some nights but overall it's getting better, and as crazy as it is we'll look back one day and miss these times, as I'm sure many of you know all too well. I'm actually able to post more while at work, which I'm sure is another thing some of you can relate to haha. Even though I'll go missing for a few days at a time, I'm usually always at least lurking and checking in on things a couple times a day. Sometimes we get caught up with things on the weekends and I don't have time to catch up but I try. Also, Penn State is in the tourney for the first time since the Medieval period and NCAA wrestling Championships start tomorrow, so I've been preoccupied with some other things
  16. 'Mornin fellow weather weirdos. These winds the past two days have just been brutal while walking into work in Harrisburg. Last night the house was shaking. Slightly better today but not much. Looks like the highest recorded gust yesterday was 56mph at Mifflin County Airport, which I hear all the major airlines will be offering direct non-stop service to in the coming months. As expected, the major snow totals yesterday were confined to the MA-NY-VT border region. NE PA looks like a highly elevation-dependent general 4-8" type deal, with a couple of higher lollipops. I'm starting to have concerns about the ability of our "storm" to climb the coast for next week. My expectations are about as low as can be at this point. Either way, the remainder of March looks mostly chilly. MDT now at an avg. temp of 40.0, exactly one degree above average. What's happening out at Mammoth Mountain is absolutely amazing to behold -- a weather fanatic's wet dream -- while also recognizing the dangers it poses. National high of 87 near Ochopee, FL and low of -19 at Seagull Lake, MN. Those are my scatterbrained thoughts for the morning. Chao.
  17. Good lord. This thing ended up turning into a total bust, even more than we already knew it to be ha.
  18. 1.5" here in west-central Lancaster County, and that's with me probably being a wee bit generous on a couple .1" events ha.
  19. It sure is and that's certainly a possibility, but overall it just seems a bit wonky to me. I think the Goofus is still figuring some things out and needs to clear the map of the current storm.
  20. What a sad looking radar.....classic weak disorganized Miller B look......
  21. We have a flizzard here in West Hempfield Township. This may be as exciting as it gets.
  22. Indeed. They were third at the SC regional tournament behind only Central Dauphin and Gettysburg. They are one of the smallest schools in AAA, so like you said impressive to be beating much larger schools. Good stuff. Back to weather, NAM looks interesting towards the end of its run for Monday.
  23. Ah yes I see him now. Boiling Springs always has a strong program. They just moved up to AAA for the first time this year. Very nice. Good luck to him today as he battles back through consolations. PA States is a real meat grinder.
  24. It's always impressive to makes States as a freshman. There isn't a single freshman in District 3 (Southcentral Regional) who made the state tournament at a weight above 114 pounds. Might these friends of yours attend Gettysburg school district?
