  1. High of 90 yesterday, low of 70. Still sitting at a dewpoint of 69. We got home last night to find that a pretty nasty storm had moved through the area. A lot of small to medium branches down and our Adirondack chairs were strewn across the yard. Had a buddy lose a tree and neighbor says we had some small hail too. .47” in the gauge, much needed.
  2. I’m at a family cookout in Rohrerstown just west of Lancaster City and we had a nice 15 minute downpour earlier and now some storms intensifying over York and trying to head this way, albeit ever so slowly.
  3. I’m at 79 and agree I’d be shocked if we go below 70 tonight.
  4. A high of 93 here and not a drop of rain. Juuuuust missed out on a couple potent cells.
  5. I touched 92 a little earlier but now down to 90 as it appears a cell is trying to pop right overhead. Will be interesting to see where the day goes from here.
  6. Looks like the hotbox of CXY did in fact hit 91 yesterday. Statewide, IPT and PHL were the only other 90s, with both also hitting the 91 mark. MDT, LNS, THV, and RDG al topped out at 89.
  7. Yep but the one thing that's guaranteed is the humidity. Take extra tee shirts to your picnics
  8. A high of 90 yesterday and low of 66 last night. Now we get hot hot hot for the next couple days. Relief on Sunday. MDT ended up exactly average for June.
  9. Believe it or not, I actually hit 90 here briefly earlier, now down to 88.
  10. 87 here as well. It's a rare thing to see you not coming in a couple degrees higher than me ha. Low of 59 last night for me.
  11. Wow, if just the school and county rate was 6.85% that's crazy high and explains the insane taxes. For perspective, my total property tax rate here in West Hempfield is 22.1189 mills, or roughly 2.2%, and that's including a municipal rate of 1.95 mils that I'm not sure you were even factoring in. Wonder why they are so high up that way. I always tell my wife you never truly own your home, even after paying off your mortgage, and if you think you do, try not paying your property tax bill and see what happen haha.
  12. Wow that must have been an insane millage rate to get taxes that high off of a property value of 179. Crazy.
  13. I noticed that they went away on the site I use as well, hmmmmmm.... https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/zoa/getobext.php?sid=KLNS
  14. Thank you, very kind of you. I take a lot of pride in being financially responsibly, have never spent beyond my means and as such, have never paid a dime of credit card interest. Totally agreed on the modest home with no debt. We're trying to stay positive and remember how fortunate we are to have a decent home. The main issue for us is wanting the second full bath so we don't have to share with kids as they age. As it currently stands we have 1.5 and nowhere to really add another one. Also the one car garage with single lane driveway sticks in my craw a bit but we can certainly make do. Modern day problems, I know ha. We have seen quite a few houses in Donegal that have annual property taxes in the 6-8k range. As I'm sure you're keenly aware, Donegal has some of the higher school taxes in the region.
  15. Same here! Zero debt. The mortgage was the last hurdle. It's a phenomenal feeling. But it looks like we may be staying in our townhouse with two kids forever haha. Yeah thought I would go a touch lower last night. MDT is actually dead on for its June temp being exactly average to this point, at 72.3. The old culprits of Death Valley and Peter Sinks are at it again with the national high and low of 122 and 29, respectively.
  16. Yep. It will level off at some point (we hope ha). Right now is just the worst of both worlds with the rates having risen and the market still being red hot with demand which is keeping prices high. Of course, interest rates don't matter when you're making cash offers and that's a lot of what we're losing out to around here. Ugh.
  17. Congrats! My wife and I just became mortgage free last month, no better feeling. We have been in the housing market for over a year but it's absolutely impossible to buy a decent home in the Lancaster area these days. That's with offering well over already-inflated list prices, waiving inspections, appraisal waivers, 25% down, offering to pay transfer taxes, etc.....the works. Still not a chance, so we just said screw it let's pay off the mortgage on our townhome instead. It's a great feeling but also the housing situation is beyond frustrating. Also, low of 57 here last night.
  18. A high of 79 here. A day for the ages, pure perfection.
  19. A low of 55 here. A couple of splendid days on tap.
  20. Some nice showers rolled through, to the tune of about an additional .07".
  21. Hard for temps to go much lower when dews are hanging around 70! Sultry.
  22. A high of 91 yesterday and low of 71, with a total of .25" of rain. Some more rain on my doorstep. Looks like a pleasant few days ahead, followed by things turning hot towards the first half of the weekend. MDT looks like it will end up right around average for monthly temp.
