  1. And yet the Mount Joy Snowman himself got a grand total of 0.0" yesterday and less than two tenths from today's line. To be fair, I don't live as close to The Joy as I used to and in fact now have a Lancaster address, but I'll be damned if I'm changing my screen name ha. Really, the entire reason for this post was just so I could refer to myself in third person haha. Carry on.
  2. Sure does. We always seem to have our worst flooding episodes when tropical remnants interact with stalled out frontal boundaries. Lee in 2011 really stands out.
  3. Welcome to my every-morning routine for the last 18 years. Well, since Covid we are only back in the office two days a week, so not quite every morning anymore. Side note, a 2" difference between MDT and CXY in rainfall yesterday. Sheesh.
  4. Ah my mistake. For some reason I thought you were going to OBX and were leaving earlier in the week. In that case, I think you'll be mostly fine.
  5. @Bubbler86 Seems to be some pretty big differences in your OBX storm for next week, with the CMC moving it through rather quickly and the GFS/Euro being damn near week-ruiners. Either way, moisture is a comin' for the east coast.
  6. Low of only 74 and 0.0” of rain yesterday. Yuck. You can just tell it’s going to be stifling today. Hopefully some widespread storms accompany the humidity later this afternoon.
  7. I got nary a drop out of all this haha. In any case, impressed by the extent of the storms today.
  8. That cell really blew up, possible hail core with 40,000' cloud tops. I just missed out on being clipped by it but it darkened up pretty good.
  9. Low of 69 and .03” from yesterday morning’s showers. Dog days of summer ahead.
  10. It is correct that MU compares its temps to its entire period of record, while NWS compares against the most recent 30-year period, hence MU always having higher AN departures.
  11. Bold sir, bold. The first week or so will certainly get you off on the right track. After that, we'll have to see how pronounced and prolonged the eastern troughing is that is currently being depicted on some of the long-range modeling. But yeah, overall, HOT seems like a safe bet.
  12. Yesterday was the rare day where every ASOS/AWOS station in the Commonwealth topped out in the 80s. Nobody above 89; no one below 80. Neat.
  13. Driving into Harrisburg today with a buddy and currently going through some nice moderate to heavy showers just beyond Etown.
  14. Low of 71 with .13” of rainfall. Happy to see some big winners in our forum. Got to see the rare sight of a rainbow while looking west this morning, due to the approaching showers from the west and the illumination from the rising sun in the east. Good stuff.
  15. Rain has commenced here. Nothing crazy but sounds lovely hitting the house.
  16. Not sure if 42 is considered young around these parts but yeah, I've never heard of that one. Learn something new every day! Is this like a step-sibling of Arby's or something like that?
  17. Forgive me if I'm a little slow haha, but what does all this mean??
  18. Back when I was fresh out of college in the mid 2000's I used to work at a fine dining restaurant called Haydn Zugs in East Petersburg. Place was top notch -- all pewter place settings, hand-polished silverware and glasses, replace tablecloths and candles at every turn of a table, fancy fold the napkin every time customer gets up, crumb between courses (which some people find weird haha), etc. There was nothing better than when we'd have one of our private rooms rented out for a high-end corporate party or something of the like and they'd leave behind loads of half-drank $100+ bottles of wine. Let's just say the staff would have a good time on those nights haha. Everyone should have to work in a restaurant at least once.
  19. Low of 72. Hoping for some good storm activity this evening. After today, CTP has me at 90 or above every day in the forecast period.
  20. Low of 66. Do my eyes deceive me or does MDT actually have a chance to finish July with a mean temp below 80? May have to do some calculations later. August looks to start hot. We were out kind of towards @ChescoWx yesterday at a birthday party a couple miles south of Honey Brook. Between the ultra rural nature of the surroundings and the elevation (we were up at ~800'), the temp was a good 3-5 degrees lower than even the rural stretches of the Old Philadelphia Pike, going through Bird-in-Hand, Intercourse, White Horse, and the like. Beautiful drive but man were the buggies out in full force on a Sunday, must have passed 50 of 'em.
  21. Crisp low of 58. It appears the nice nights are over for the foreseeable future.
  22. Really is a beautiful day. Probably gonna build a fire tonight. Might be the last cool night for a minute.
