National high of 90 at McAllen, TX and low of -47 at Peter Sinks for an amazing Lower 48 diurnal range of 137 degrees, and yes, I am fully aware that this interests only me. Carry on.

Harrisburg has been a stunning snow globe all morning, with the flakes, at times, falling so slowly that they appear to be suspended. No real additional accumulation where I'm at in the heart of the concrete jungle but I imagine some grassy surfaces and outlying areas are adding a wee bit to their totals. Just a beautiful scene.

Again, it's another day where it just feels and looks like winter out there. Those types of days have really piled up this winter. Regardless of snow totals, I've really enjoyed this winter season.

6am Obs: 27 with light snow falling. 24-Hr accumulation of 1.9” melted down to .16”. Looks like my O/U of 2.0” worked out pretty well for KMJS. Congrats to any southerners who made out big. Time to take a train ride.

Yeah this has the look of a classic turnpike battle zone. Still 28 degrees here with a steady light snow as I get ready to bed down for the night. Have an early morning tomorrow, hope to wake up to over an inch. G’night weather freaks.

At no point have I completely shut off so I at least have that going for me ha. Actually the last hour or so has been a steady light snow. I can say that I’m over a quarter inch now soooo…..progress. Radar looks to be filling in a bit to our west as well.

I've been watching painfully as that band stays mere miles to my south. If I squint I can see very slight movement northward. Literally on the edge of it now. Brutal.

I noticed this as well. It’s just south of @Itstrainingtime and I. Curious to see if it can bulge north at all. Doubtful.

6pm Obs: 28 with light snow falling and just under a tenth of an inch of accumulation.

Same here, just got home to a dusting. The stuff that’s falling now is not of the accumulating variety ha. Later this evening should be our best chance to add something real. We hope.

12z HRRR remains unimpressed.......

Today could be one of those days where it's very painful watching the radar loop.

Low of 23. I’ll put the over/under for KMJS at an even two inches. Sadly, I’m leaning towards the under. Who knows, maybe we’ll get lucky with some mid level forcing out ahead of the main show. You never know. Every storm has a few surprises but I’m keeping expectations low with this one.

The latest long range runs of the RAP and HRRR have us at basically an inch or less. Really hoping this doesn't fizzle into a non-event.

Euro is 1-2" for our forum Tuesday night.

Looking over the NAM and GFS skew-T's for Wed night and it appears there's a warm layer around H800 that wants to spoil the party right off the bat, but then the heavy precip moves in during the late evening and cools the column enough for a couple hour period of heavy snow. The warm nose wins out pretty quickly and by midnight changes everything to rain. The key to squeezing the most out of this potential will be those couple hours where the CAD and column-cooling win out and provide us with two or three hours of hard plaster. We'll really need it to thump but I think it can and will. Hopefully the late night rain is minimized enough to not wash everything away. Keeping a keen eye on this one.

Ugh I hope this isn't one of those scenarios where the dry air just completely eviscerates the northern edge of the precipitation shield. We've seen it before. I distinctly remember a couple events where this has happened. Again, I'll take my 2" right now and walk. The good news is the GFS seems to really be keying in on that CAD front end thump of snow for Wed night. Who knows, maybe that will end up being our bigger event. Weather, always full of surprises.

Outside of the NAM, I'm not loving what I'm seeing from the 12z suite so far. Even some of the less heralded hi-res models are uninspiring. I think I'd sign up for 2" right now and call it a day, just to be safe.

Haha yes I had that as well, where shortly after vomiting I spent most of my time sitting on the commode. Not fun. Sorry for muddying up this thread with talk of bile and soft stools. I'll retreat back into my hole.

Yeah I've never had any type of nausea from covid. I was referring to this separate stomach bug that's been going around, non covid related. It hits hard and fast and then moves on its way. Covid can linger more but I've never found it to be all that severe. Obviously can differ by the individual. Hope you feel better soon Bubbs, we're going to need you to lasso in some threats for us in what feels like a dwindling time period!

Is that the crazy little 24 hour stomach bug that seemingly everyone in existence is getting? All of our friends are going through it right now or have recently. It hit me hard and quick on the way into work a couple of weeks ago and I had to turn right around and take the 9am train back home. It took everything I had to not hurl on the train and then I got home and puked my guts out and was fine 24 hours later. It hit Colin Cowherd live on the air last week. It's wild, must be super contagious.
