  1. Not exactly inspiring. I’ve never seen this much of this deep red on the week 3-4 outlook.
  2. A fair, measured, balanced response. I wouldn’t expect anything less from you. I’ll try to stay out of the nonsense.
  3. Sorry for my involvement, but TCC came in here with good, honest facts directly from the NWS about the accuracy of their ASOS and got met with two nasty responses. I didn’t feel that particular post was any more agenda-driven or irrelevant to this region than Chesco’s daily summaries from southeastern PA.
  4. I do hope you get snow soon. It’s probably tough not having anything to take your mind off OSU and Michigan.
  5. I guess it’s still not snowing at your place either. Sorry for your loss.
  6. Looks like we dropped to 25 this morning. First 20s of December. The only other year that failed to get into the 20s from 12/1 to 12/12 was 1923.
  7. Seems like the Euro believed the same lies I do.
  8. I just wanted to see if we had good model consensus for next week’s blizzard.
  9. Would you be able to post the GFS snow map for the same time period? I’m having trouble getting it to load.
  10. If it ever snows again, I’ll be a lot less cynical.
  11. Well then it’s not seasonable, now is it?
  12. Suburban western Chester county is obviously simultaneously in both central PA and the Philadelphia region, seeing as he posts his obs in both, but let’s not get crazy and say it’s DC/Baltimore metro. It’s not like he posts his obs in their subforum. Oh wait, he would, but knows they’d never put up with his bullshit there.
  13. I mean yeah, you can and sometimes do absolutely cash in with a seasonable January. Just don’t expect retention if you’re into that sort of thing.
  14. “Seasonably cold” in January gets it done in New England. “Seasonably cold” in January in the southern half of PA means highs in the mid to upper 30s to near 40.
  15. If we closed last year’s winter thread on 12/11 we wouldn’t have lost anything.
  16. I was looking at that. The years currently ahead of this year all had cold periods in mid to late December.
  17. The other weather of note is that despite how much the NWS was hyping up rain amounts for this past weekend, PIT ended up with 0.09”.
  18. The first 10 days of December averaged 46.2 degrees at PIT, good for 8th all time and 6 degrees warmer than the first 10 days of December 2015. Combine that with the map above, and, well, you know where this is going.
  19. Squinting at this trying to figure out where the cold is going to come from and how many inches of snowfall deficit we’ll have to make up at that point if the cold does come.
  20. Also need to note that we set a record warm daily min with yesterday’s low of 52. I didn’t even realize.
  21. If the nearest cold air wasn’t way on the other side of the pole and we weren’t at 21 months since our last advisory event it’d be easier to have faith.
  22. We’re going to have a lot of ground to make up to get even close to normal for the season when (if?) the pattern flips. Back to back rotten winters (and 3 out of 5) is certainly a possibility.
  23. I would tend to agree that clippers are more or less gone.
  24. Four years into the decade and a sub-advisory level event is all that is needed to get into the top ten.
  25. Not to worry, it’s gone at 12z. Even with the low way out east, we’re still getting a rainstorm. Like Tomlin and the Steelers losing back to back games at home to 2-10 teams, disappointing but not shocking. Christ, this time of year is so goddamn depressing around here anymore.
