  1. Its back! Cannot wait for fall and biking when the leaves change.
  2. I'm in those two green pixels in Fairfax county, yet we always hear about the great Germantown drought and never the western Fairfax one.
  3. Might need to edit that post right there
  4. This is like saying it to a police officer it wasn’t me who was speeding but the car
  5. As long as it snows enough to cover the grass and make everything look nice I will be happy.
  6. You called snow "harmless" I am not here to debate whether snow kills more than hurricanes which I do not have an answer for yet. But simply to show that while rooting for snow can be seen as less destructive there still is destruction that happens alongside it.
  7. You do know that snow can cave in roofs right? Or that cold can kill you?
  8. Wonder how much more intense the costals will be, I guess whoever ends up on the right side of the mixing line should be in for a pretty good storm.
  9. Its good we have recon in the storm as it has the IR uptick to see if it will translate to a stronger storm.
  10. Looks like it might be primed for RI, I guess we will see throughout the night.
  11. Nice it finally rained but waking up for the first practice of the swim season at 4am when its pouring rain was a little challenging sorta funny though.
  12. Well at least you have memories of those times, I wasn’t yet born for 2001, can’t remember 2009 and was sick during 2016. The largest snowstorm I fully remember tracking and seeing was 9 inches of snow last year. So it irritates me a bit with how you complain a bunch about the winters and how you don’t get snow not realizing some have not gotten the privilege to even experience a mecs or hecs. That is why I appreciate the little events, because they are all I know.
  13. I would recommend just being happy with what we get. A little bit of snow can make everything look nice.
  14. I’m out past the peak of the elevation in western fairfax, it goes from 450ish a little up the road to 370ish at my house in a short distance, do you think this has any effect on the local climate with storms and such? I’d imagine the higher elevation out to the east helps block the rain snow line a tiny bit.
  15. If we get a significant snowfall before or on Christmas it makes the winter at least ok, now if we get a blizzard Christmas then it makes the winter. After all it only takes one storm
  16. If it is abnormal enough then it is also a sign that the climate is out of whack, whether its from climate change or that volcano earlier this year is unknown. Its mostly not talked about besides while it may be an indicator of issues it is less newsworthy, I mean the headline Extreme Lack of Hurricanes wont sell that well. Also when you are trying to convince someone to save the planet and their life by acting on climate change its in your best interest to not confuse them.
  17. Look healthy enough on visible, solid rotation on lower level clouds but most of the heavy convection is displaced off to the right of the center but may be trying to wrap around, If it can wrap around fast enough we should be able to break the 0/0/0 August we are in. Probably going to be close.
  18. I agree most hurricanes seasons do end after the 15th of September
  19. Currently is looking a little rough on IR view.
