  1. Light flurries in Fredericksburg.
  2. 37/23. Looks like this will start as snow here, in contrast to some model projections. The sun and mid-40s temps really cut back on the snowpack, but still averaging about 6". Even an inch or so would look pretty and put me over Climo, so personally I don't care that much if North and West areas get most of this.
  3. Going to finish with ~14.5-15" in Fredericksburg, over double what I expected. Easily the second best storm since 2010, and might rival the ~18" of January 2016 due to the fact that it essentially all fell in one morning with ridiculous rates, and subjectively the circumstances surrounding this surprise storm. Also, can't find observations for EZF after 10:55, but they already had 2 hours of <0.25 mile visibility as of then and some of the lowest visibility of the storm here was the 11-12:30 timeframe, so they probably came very close to blizzard warning criteria.
  4. Just over 14" on the ground in Fredericksburg with continued moderate snow... winds picking up resulting in low visibility and blowing/drifting. Walking around it just has the look of a "HECS."
  5. Moderate snow in Fredericksburg... ~11 inches so far
  6. Latest HRRR shows 3-6" remaining in the immediate DC/Baltimore metros, with more in southern Maryland
  7. https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/timeseries.php?sid=KEZF&num=72 EZF with two consecutive reports of <.25 mile visibility
  8. HRRR rates are verifying here. Up to 7.5" in Fredericksburg, almost 3" in less than an hour.
  9. Borderline whiteout conditions in Fredericksburg
  10. Steady moderate snow now. 4.75" in Fredericksburg
  11. Fredericksburg a few minutes ago. Breeze picking up and reducing visibility
  12. Intensity is down somewhat in Fredericksburg. But that last band was crazy. Total 2.75" now, with over an inch in the past 15-20 minutes here.
  13. 1.5" so far with HEAVY snow in Fredericksburg
  14. This band is legit. Looks and feels like the height of the January 2016 storm here.
  15. Traffic camera just south of EZF shows very low visibility and I-95 caving to snow accumulations
  16. I'm by no means an expert, but my understanding is that snow depth is generally too low except in highly marginal events.
  17. Huge flakes coming down in Fredericksburg! Everything coated.
  18. Almost certainly all snow, as we just flipped to all snow in Fredericksburg.
  19. Finally! Over to mostly snow and instantly sticking thanks to the coating of sleet.
  20. Heavy sleet, starting to slush up everything including roads
