  1. The way it looks now... Seems like an advisory event down here. We're just one or two towns away from the goods.
  2. Yeah I just found some of those articles. I mean it would make a lot of sense. You don't see too much of that in the media.
  3. Even I don’t think that is going to happen. Now by 2100 I wonder if that could be a thing. I could see New Haven having a climate like DC in 20 to 40 years. I Feel like SNE is already seeing thunderstorm activity that is more synonymous with the upper south, if 2021 is any indication. Versus a couple decades ago, when you could go an entire summer with barely a couple thunderstorms in RI.
  4. That’s not abysmal for NYC. Some years NYC gets screwed, what with with the urban island challenge on it. Central Park is where it’s at.
  5. I’m trying to remember did you guys get a decent hit at all this winter? Was there like 7 inches with the grand blizzard? Maybe I should know this but I live kinda far from NYC
  6. I like this preliminary consideration. And, I have the weekend off so I wouldn’t have to drive in it
  7. GFS continues to relentlessly shout for a foot of snow. Kuchera. Wouldn't you enjay a foot of snow?
  8. He said that "If you like snow, it's best not to live in a valley downwind of a hill". Basically the reality that even our region has mini-rain shadows. I am for one frankly surprised that 1000 or 1500 feet ASL is enough to do it. But SOMETIMES it is.
  9. Very Wet Snow possibility somewhere along this area More latitude-dependent than ocean proximity dependent compared to other setups. If for no other reason, orientation of flow
  10. Still another 36 to 48 hours to go before start taking models seriously?
  11. I'm glad there's something in the pipeline to look at. If it fails, then we are running out of time for a last hurrah. As I recall however, there was one Advisory-level or Low-Level warning event in March 2021?
  12. I had it backwards. Whiskey is American and Irish. Whisky is Scottish and Canadian.
  13. No, there are regional variances in the spelling of this word. Whiskey is American. Whisky is Canadian and I think... Irish. Whiskey can be Scottish maybe? I might have ONE of these wrong.
  14. I am super careful about alcohol because I am historically vulnerable to substance abuse. And what I have been doing with it has kept me safe for many months about it. I am not a genetic type alcoholic, I have no such syndrome where I so much as taste it, and suddenly cant stop and wind up 200 miles away in a strange hotel with no idea how I got there. But I have been around long enough to learn how caution tends to produce better results. My vulnerability is a situation of mental illness rather than a true genetic alcoholic.
  15. At approximately 4:40pm EST I entered an area of snow shower along rt 32 North, not far from where North Franklin approaches South Windham. By the time I made it deep into the town of South Windham, Visibility was down to 200-300 feet and everything was abruptly white. The transition took about 1/2 mile to complete. I realized I was caught in the band of a snow squall but did not know its orientation or size. The snowfall intensity was remarkable, and was heavier than anything you'd see in even most strong nor-easters. By the time I got into Willimantic, there was around 1/2 inch and everything was white. The snow began lightening up in intensity as I made my way into the house, and I have not looked outside since. There had been snow showers a couple hours earlier down in East Lyme around 2pm but they only lasted 30 minutes or so, and nothing stuck.
  16. I have finished the equivalent of my “friday” shift at my job that is the equivalent of being a Walmart greeter only with the added annoyance of asking people to prove they can come in, where I am being thrown shade for the fact that I injured myself at my prior position there and I’m about to file workers comp. I stopped off and finally got to treat myself to a product I’ve been wanting to try for 6 years. I actually only wanted a 200 but I soon realized it’s a 375!!! Which unfortunately means I’m pouring half of it out later.
  17. I don't drink very much but when I do, it's whiskey. I don't buy the standard bottles because that would make me more vulnerable to drinking too much. If I choose to drink on a given day I will get a 200ml. This one store in South Windham has nice little 200ml Woodford Reserve bottles for like $13 which is a good fetch around these parts. I love 200ml of premium whiskeys but TBH they're not as common as just regular jack or whatever.
  18. I miss the giddy feeling of getting a snow day and blitz conditions we had Jan 29. Even getting only 9 inches it SEEMED like more because of how it drifted and got up into every crack and crevace
  19. By about Feb 10... You REALLY see the sun seeming way more intense and bright than the weather gives it credit for. I dont even know how snow can hold on for dear life anywhere.
  20. There are probably several Dr. Doctorses.
  21. I will find any excuse in the world to ensure that new people are named "Visa" or "Dollar". "But we're family, you should consider my suggestions" I write in the letter.
  22. My 3rd cousin's daughter is having a baby. I was speaking to them on the telephone tonight and they were asking me to chip in for some names. I am interested in unique names. If it's a girl, how does the name "Visa" sound? If it's a boy... I like the name "Dollar". Or so people don't think its weird maybe "Doller". Their last name is "Pepper". Visa Pepper is a very regal sounding name. Dollar Pepper. too. Regina is a good name. I really am feeling the name "Visa". I just get the urge to call somebody "Visa". Hasn't anybody wanted to call a friend "Dollar"? It sounds regal. It sounds rich.
  23. We have to be honest with ourselves. Pack season is coming to an end around these parts. We may still get one or two considerable snowfalls before snow itself stops falling, but we shan't be naive about the truth. The sun is stronger than the air temperatures are giving it credit for.
