  1. In 09 we had had no snow at this point if I’m not mistaken. In Winchester we had 51” of snow in 10 days at the end of Jan into the first of Feb.
  2. Latest gfs shows a tendency for the troughs dipping into US that currently are too far east imo slowly becoming more aligned with the Mississippi River as time progresses which I think gives us better opportunities.
  3. And break the clipper streak as well
  4. BWI - 27.3” DCA - 16.4” IAD - 29.6” RIC - 9.7” SBY - 1.2”
  5. This. Not sure how much faith I’d put in an OV low transfer to the Carolina coast.
  6. ^ was just about to post that maybe Dec 5 might be in play
  7. If you look at day +5 forecasts just for the interest or for a heads up on what could happen you’re fine. If you are looking at it to get what the actual ground weather will be you’re gonna drive yourself nuts … as we see constantly.
  8. Preach. We get above normal precip, I feel strongly we get above normal snow. It was an extremely dry winter, and year here last year. I think we topped the 5” precip mark for the year sometime around mid March. That won’t get it done. Also of interest, last year at this time our precip total was about 44”. Right now we are at 22”. Extremely dry out here.
  9. Why don’t you just tell me the kind of winter you want to have
  10. The word “signal” is like nails on a chalkboard
  11. I love UVA but that’s a textbook definition of a charge. Feet set, outside the arc? No way that’s a block. But it was impressive
  12. The swing that is likely in the long range thread mood in the next couple of days could be epic.
  13. I know others have different thoughts but I still think for your overall winter outcomes, the pacific is the driver. Blocking helps, but a bad pacific can sink it all.
