And the day after Christmas that year as well
-
Nobody will look at this … too busy looking at the pattern in 6 weeks lol

That map looks like something you’d have seen on an Atari game system

New thread. Let’s shake it up

Go. Here’s to better times
-
For fun, go look at the 500 map for the US for Monday on the 12z run from Mon 12/11 and compare it to the same time on todays run and then tell me why one would place any hope/despair on an op run beyond about 3 days.
-
Wouldn’t that argue that we need a cold push that doesn’t have the steam to make it too far out over those warm waters?
-
Shocking development
-
The ns and ss continue to increase the space between them for the Sun/Mon storm. Perhaps if they continue that trend it allows Tuesday to become a better setup?

Tuesday?

One take is that this euro has something. Something > nothing

You may be onto something here

GFS doesn’t even have that follow up. I’m going with the snowiest model. Usually works well

Guaranteed cold
-
For clarity, my posts were not meant to be any type of pushback. I only attempted to give an alternative view of the model data we are getting. Personally I don’t put stock in anything past about 7 days. I have no idea what the weather might be doing as we near Christmas and beyond. I do know that weather can flip on a dime. See 1989. Imagine a flip right after New Years and about 10 weeks of just pure winter. We would all take it and it can happen.

Not what I was saying. It’s an ensemble run. It’s a blend and that blend might look more zonal because of the battle between the food look you’re talking about and the not so good looks. Besides, how reliable are these in the first place. More than an op but still susceptible to swings.
-
I would think those could also be the result of a few members not having the great look, less consensus, more confusion and thus a slightly more zonal looking flow. Those looks aren’t all that different, just a little flatter.

I’ll bet they thought it was a good post

Neither NAM has any snow here
-
My head tells me to not buy this. My heart wants it to be true. The NAM surface is warm but the 850’s are cold. Heavy precip would drag that air down I would think. Who knows

Wasn’t that 87?
