  1. I can say this with an absolute certainty. Nobody in this forum cares if it ever snows in and around New York City. That’s not being snarky. It is the truth. Just as I’m betting nobody in NYC cares if it snows in my back yard. We have a NY forum. Why someone from there is posting here, if they aren’t a met, is baffling to me. I know I would have zero interest in reading what they think about the upcoming winter or their thoughts on last winter.
  2. Anybody happen to read the forecast advisory? Yikes, cat 4.
  3. These lantern flys are literally all over the place out here
  4. That “mountainous island” is about the same elevation as Winchester. It’s a bump
  5. Am I just looking at this wrong but did this thing really turn westward of late?
  6. What type of elevation are we looking at on the western end of Cuba?
  7. Well that seems like it could certainly at least slow what appears to be a rapidly deepening system. Of course it won’t be over land very long regardless of it’s path
  8. It looks like it is gonna pass over that island just south of Cuba then Cuba itself. It seems to have taken a slight wobble to the west putting it more in line with that island. I don’t know the elevation of that island, but I suppose that could dampen Ida a bit, for a while.
  9. Wouldn’t a path east of New Orleans be potentially problematic also. Katrina was east of the city and the damage came from Lake Pontchartrain did it not?
  10. Year round heat in Richmond. Might as well be Jacksonville
  11. EJ want death and destruction. Nothing less will suffice
  12. I agree with this. Interaction with Cuba will be key but at this speed it’s only gonna be over land a couple of hours at max. I think it may explode once back over the gulf
  13. Part of the “I” thing might be the time that an “I” storm is likely to show up. If we looked at the dates of those storms are they generally appearing in and around the peak climo for Atlantic hurricanes?
  14. Don’t know the answer but I’d say a similar total. We had a few stretches of heat last year too.
  15. Yeah they are lucky when they don’t hit 75
