  1. Anybody would seem better than who he has.
  2. That reminds me of a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon
  3. Amen. It by far gave the most consistent run to run guidance last winter
  4. The most fascinating thing with tropical systems for me is the backside cutoff. I remember with Fran I got zero rain where I lived but 20 miles east of me got 6”. I think this typically happens with the stronger systems and usually soon after landfall. This one is fairly sharp on the back
  5. I always miss the fun stuff
  6. It’s completely and utterly impossible. When long range forecasts are correct it’s luck IMO. You wanna do the “higher chances” style of long range forecast, then ok. To be able to definitively forecast long range? Forget it
  7. That actually makes sense.
  8. Depends on your definition of good snow. Again, the period 2012-2015 had plenty of good snow and cold. I thought you moved to Florida? Never say never I guess but I don’t think there is any setup that will produce there lol
  9. Anytime I see discussions on the importance of the AO/NAO, it is always centered on snowfall. I think Wes’ chart was for 4 inch snowfall. I agree that blocking there has a strong correlation to heavy snowfall events, but I would think the winters of 2012-2013 through 2014-2015 show that a great pacific really can overcome the lack of Atlantic blocking. It all depends on what you are looking for. I prefer the consistent cold and regular snow chances over big storms. So I’d prefer a jet that walks off Canada and keeps cold nearby. Heck even cutters can produce in that setup. As to your comment about potential changes to what we normally expect in certain setups, I’d love to hear thoughts on what has happened to clippers and why. Those used to be such a winter fixture and now they seemingly don’t exist.
  10. That would argue, again, that the Pacific is the primary factor to consider.
  11. People really like rain lol
  12. Thread Counter — 001
  13. Now that’s a storm. Turned the world on its side.
  14. The ability to not see long quoted posts unless you want to is great and will pay huge dividends this winter.
  15. How do you access your profile?
  16. I think you absolutely could seal it. First I would seal it on the inside. You probably could do this easily with cardboard and duct tape. The bugs are also capable of coming through most window units that I have seen. If I was faced with this problem I would go buy about 3 feet of replacement window screen, cut it to fit all sides, buy enough 1/2” aluminum strip from Lowe’s, or even better aluminum angle, put my screen over the ac and attach the aluminum strip along the edges with short 1/2” sheet metal screws to hold the screen in place. I doubt seriously that you’d have very many bugs get through that.
  17. Never had anything but a stick until I bought an F150 in 2019. And I hate having that automatic transmission
  18. Uh, let’s hang on a minute
  19. Our high was 91 and the dp was 68 and I thought it was disgusting
  20. It should default to zero then
  21. 20-30% chance of greater than 3 inches. Just like every time it gets posted
