  1. Few drips today. 0.04” since midnight. The HRRR had been getting wetter, but has reversed.
  2. Yeah, strange little area of enhancement, especially from you to the hospital and over to Nutley.
  3. Back down to 0 w/m^2 solar. Dark out there this morning. 0.63" combined over the past two days. Good enough.
  4. That is some serious rain SE of Manassas/W of Dale City. >3" in an hour indicated by radar and backed up by some of the PWSs.
  5. I'm not seeing that. The HRRR is keying in on the initial convection being focused on a very weak surface boundary that is around the MD/PA border. Beyond that, there is little forcing so this is going to be a pulsing, cold-pool driven day. The coverage may not be very good, but like last night in Manassas, whoever gets it will be quite wet.
  6. Still 100% accurate. They aren't instructing people not to do what is best for their kids, but they are not going to make changes to their process to facilitate unequal access.
  7. No, the exact wording is that "While FCPS doesn’t and can’t control these private tutoring groups, we do have concerns that they may widen the gap in educational access and equity for all students." That is 100% accurate. The rest of the statement says that FCPS won't rearrange their classrooms to accommodate these private pods. I'm ok with that.
  8. Following up on this, there have been <10 100° days at DCA after August 17th. Given the forecast and how wet we've been recently, I'd be extremely surprised if we pulled one off this year.
  9. I'm in Fairfax County with an incoming 1st grader who has discussed pod solutions with other parents. The only takeaway from the Superintendent's note was that they aren't going to juggle their classroom assignments due to parents wanting pods. Leave it to the Federalist to blow it out of proportion.
  10. I'm going to call this a no-dograph.
  11. Headed in between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. Hope everyone is off of Lake McBride and in shelters at the campgrounds.
  12. PWATs over 2" from Thursday through Sunday via the 06z GFS.
  13. This is the meme template of the year, IMO.
  14. If you haven't in the past, make sure to hit Swallow Falls State Park. That is a gem.
  15. Down to 70 at DCA. Lowest since June 26th.
  16. I think if I had a tall ladder I could touch that wall cloud.
  17. Storms firing along an outflow boundary from prior storms. A nice example.
  18. Not just the HRRR. 18z NAM nest has 14" near Winchester. Certainly one of the odd situations where the models like the 81 corridor better for storms.
  19. Now we can all see how much we've been screwed. That's me with the 4.79" in July.
  20. Ha, you beat me by a few minutes! You can make a custom version up to 45 days. I've been waiting for something like this. https://maps.cocorahs.org/
  21. Just popped in for the day over at Swallow Falls and Deep Creek State Park. Staying further East by Cumberland for a few nights. DCA post-frontal still has no problem getting to 90. This month just won’t stop.
