  1. I just looked today, it says we were 3 degrees below average for May last year. And that's the point, longevity. If this lasts three weeks and has 8-12 degrees below average on many days, it will be colder than last. May. Only positive about last May, was that it was dry. This one doesn't seem to have that going for it so far.
  2. "soaring" lol. Average high is 70 at this point. Be interesting to see how cold this May ends up, because it would take many days in the 80s and maybe even 90s at the end of the month to turn it arpound once this cold breaks.
  3. Absolutely sickening. This May could be worse than last year, as it doesn't seem to want to get to even 65 anytime soon. Plus, I think we can put drought concerns to bed.
  4. The NWS updated the averages for each month and it reflects in their monthly reports. Every month looks to have gotten cooler relative to normal. April, for example went from slightly above average last week to slightly below with the new figures released.
  5. Well a week of 10 degrees below normal in May is something I consider bad. It's not for me. A week of 10 below normal in January sign me up, a week of 10 below normal in the Spring and Summer, no thank you.
  6. Looking at the models this morning, seeing possibly 4-7 days consecutively with highs in the 50s, into mid May, not appealing.
  7. Not convinced it doesn't get there at this point.
  8. Looks like a gross, cold stretch coming up. This is not welcome in May.
  9. Mother's Day always seems to gave the worst weather.
  10. Looks like we'll end up with a basically average Apriul temperature wise, a little dry, but a little snowy too. Accuweather Summer Forecast Accuweather says average temp, but stormy start to summer, then drier and hot for August. We'll see. The last truly hot August (I consider that more than 2 degrees above average) was 2016.
  11. The cold the last week plus, has completely erased the positive departures we saw earlier this month. The high, low and average temperature are all exactly at a 0.0 degree departure. I've never seen that before. Still at 50% of normal rainfall.
  12. Looks like it got down to 31 this morning. Not as cold as expected.
  13. Exactly, 2018-2019 was the wettest two year period ever recorded in Pittsburgh, with 2018 being the wettest year ever recorded. It made me sick of rain. 2020 was (rain wise, everything else sucked, lol) nice.
  14. Glad I inspired you, lol. Also, the "drought" doesn't bother me right now. I doubt we will see long term, sustained, exceptional drought here, like what occurs in the west and plains. Our climate just doesn't seem to support it all that often. I'm okay with a bit of dry weather.
  15. Never said I didn't like Thunderstorms, lol. I like a good thunderstorm, but I don't really care if it rains or not.
  16. Hopefully. This has been an up and down April to say the least.
  17. Really sick of the snow at this point. I'm in summer mode this is ridiculous.
  18. Well, give it a month or two of dry weather. March was average to above in rain. And of course the very snowy winter.
  19. I wouldn't say danger, that's an extreme word lol! But it's not like there has been ample opportunity for thunderstorms (and even rain). This month is running nearly an inch below normal in rain, and our warmest days have been beautifully sunny. It's been a dry month so far.
  20. This weather's getting gross. Too late for me to be as cold as it's going to be. Hopefully winter's last breath, and bring on nice warm weather. All I need right now is consistent 60s at least.
  21. Ron Smiley says that the low 60s in the next few days will likely be the warmest over the next 14 days! Gross. Hopefully, that is not true since 14 days is too long to really know what's going to happen.
  22. Also tied record high of 82 from 1875. Two records in a week a record low and a record high. Only Pittsburgh in the Spring, lol.
