  1. 74 is the average high now, so 70 still drops the average.
  2. Looks like 87 it is. Will be interesting to see, but I think we end up below average overall for the month. Today and tomorrow will pull the average closer to normal, Thursday shouldn't have a huge impact, then Friday- Sunday should drag it back down again, and Monday will be near normal.
  3. 87 is the average warmest temperature for May, so not unusual at all.
  4. I feel like our best chances to hit 90 are when we are at 86 at noon. 84 is a shot, but 86 at noon seems to be a safe bet to make it to 90 (unless thunderstorms interupt, or heavy clouds).
  5. Being in the City and living near West Mifflin, we saw next nothing. It was mainly north of the City for sure. Also, side note, may be the hottest day of the year incoming?
  6. Somehow that large blob from last night missed us, it looks like. Stuff popping now, mostly north. Had a little drizzle this morning, but the sky is DARK in downtown.
  7. Looks like those pop up storms are setting up to the south. That batch up in Michigan looks to be the rainmaker here.
  8. If we’re stuck in the 50s Memorial Day weekend it would suck. And figure, since last summer was so nice and dry, and we really couldn’t do anything with this pandemic. My worry is that now that we’re able to do much more, our weather will not cooperate and a shitty Memorial Day weekend is the first blow.
  9. Those 60s look terrible going into the holiday weekend.
  10. Much nicer day than I was expecting today. Thought it'd be a lot cloudier.
  11. Haha, so funny! Actually Saturday was supposed to be a little cooler than the previous days, right? Today is supposed to be warmer, then cooler Monday and really warm Tuesday.
  12. Yeah, makes no sense how they consistently get warmer than us in summer. I guess maybe their elevation is lower but still it's quite a bit north and closer to a larger body of water.
  13. The fact that Syracuse and Burlington, VT both hit 92 is rather annoying. Seems these far northern cities get way warmer than we do quite frequently.
  14. Short of expectations again today. 85. I think this will be a theme this summer, but if we limit the rain I'm ok with lower temps than advertised.
  15. Looks like temps are stalling again today. Hasn't moved in quite a while. Weird considering it's nothing but sun, so I don't really see what would slow the rise?
  16. Warmest day of the year. 85. Will we top it tomorrow?
  17. Of course. Case and point is in our new normals for 1991-2020, the prior period had an average annual highest temperature of 92.7 degrees for any given year, this period, despite our highs rising for nearly all cases, has that average annual highest temperature down to 92.6. Really weird that most summer temps rise but our warmest days do not. I'd bet cities all around us, to the east, west, north, and south, had those highest temperatures rise.
  18. Yeah, temps stalled in typical Pittsburgh fashion. I'd take maybe 1-3 degrees off the temps the next few days, they seem to be too high, still warm but too warm.
  19. I understand why they would stay lower, pushing 90 this time of year is tough to do, and forecasting it is bold, unless it's definitely got a shot. Ten days later and maybe it'd make more sense. Plus, we seemed to fall a little short of predictions for yesterday, I saw seeing 83-84.
  20. How much stock do we put in that one? I know we look to it for winter storms, but how does it perform outside winter?
  21. The weather app on the iPhone says 88 today 90 tomorrow. We'll see, but some model must be picking that up. But because it's Pittsburgh we'll likely stop at 89.
  22. Absolutely beautiful day today, and yesterday, and more to come. Just perfect weather.
