  1. Its "squeezing the box of chaos" because the models aren't adept at figuring out this current pattern, simple. Fluid dynamics for the P.I.A. some are experiencing
  2. 31 at the office here in Simsbury. The inversion this morning is causing a strange mix of fried chicken from the Big Y across the street and the local sewage treatment facility... hey, it is an obs thread
  3. Oh I agree. When they lost Joe Furey the personality and more detailed forecast info dissapeared for sure. Not that I use radio for weather, but it was a nice perspective that's now gone. The new morning show UGH... the producer is better than the newer host.
  4. Had 17 degrees at the house this morning in Westfield, 20 at work. Bob on WTIC going all in confused for the upcoming weekend forecast
  5. Well...it is interesting, as is that time-frame in general. It's still too far away to get excited how's Tip said it is a period of interest. Patience is key
  6. True. If I were more north than I am...or still had snowmobiles I'd be seeing how NNE usually has more by now. But for this area we're pretty much on par. We had 1.5 inches a couple weeks back, but I never expect much before the holidays
  7. But this is 2022! People just decide they want to define something differently and suddenly it has to be accepted en mass.... even in a weather forum
  8. I said exactly this yesterday. Even in the most prolific winters my area in SNE usually never saw any meaningful snow before Christmas at best. Maybe some here are just too young to have a good perspective
  9. Yes that, and the fact that we don't even know what we'll really get as far as blocking. It's entertaining to see some worrying about it breaking down... and we don't even know what we're working with yet. And for the record, I find the melts fascinating. Always good entertainment
  10. Great...cue the suppression depression posts why don't you
  11. You can't delay something that doesn't exist yet... Patience is needed
  12. Of course not, but some here seem to expect it.. or think it's normal. In all the years I've been observing SNE weather, one thing I've learned is to never expect any meaningful snow before Christmas. If it happens great, but it isn't normal. Most of the very best winters I've ever seen started after Christmas time in general.
  13. Been a F.M fan since 1977. She will be missed! We just saw Stevie Nicks in Mansfield several weeks back. We figure she doesn't have that long left... at least to tour either. She can still rock at 74 years old! The show was FAR better than expected
  14. Shocker is right. Everyone here should realize the models esp. long range will read like a different novel every run in a pattern like this. We probably won't see something coming 'til it's inside of 5 days
  15. IIRC that seemed to be the storm/winter that got us out of our 80s doldrums. I remember it shut Christmas tree farms down in my area because of the accumulation and heavy drifting.
  16. It's suddenly becoming clear... you must be a managing director at Neversource
  17. Well that's what the john Daniels is for!
  18. Yes... all they need now is a return of the LFM and DGEX
  19. Unfortunately it already did... hasn't been the same
  20. LOL! Ahh the blizzard of '78... the storm that really started my interest in weather.
  21. Considered personally..no. I did however I just see this near a customers house in Simsbury a few days ago. First time I've seen it done at a private residence. It looked awesome
  22. It is a great neighborhood for sure. Canton is great, I still have family there
