  1. I remember some years back a few towns in this area removed plow equipment near the end of February and ended up caught with their pants down. It's just foolish if you're in the business to uninstall before April 1st
  2. If it's not a firearm... it'll be something else. The focus of these issues keeps getting shifted to a certain single political movement. All it does is time and time again take the focus off what's really going on with mental health in this country. It has been very interesting listening to a couple friends who are counselors talk about what is happening and it's really a shame. They both blame it squarely on a mix of social media, and lack of parenting... or lax parenting also lack of discipline compared to the past. I've had an interesting conversation with a friend in another country asking about "furries" in school. He thought it was a joke, and was dumbfounded to find out it's real...
  3. We thought about that in the past. My reason for never doing it is that I always grease the sleds after each trip and like to wash, inspect etc. The amount of miles we would put on at times I just didn't feel comfortable ignoring them after a trip.
  4. LOL I was just joking about how there are actually people who use Twitter for weather forecasts
  5. I was thinking exactly the same thing! And Twitter for weather forecast info...comon man!
  6. Thats laughable. If they really did that, it's probably one of the stupidest things I've heard lately. Plows are easy to install...Sanders not so much
  7. By folks, do you mean a certain set of letters that end in Tolland?
  8. Likewise in Westfield. Holding at 13.5 for the season
  9. Yeah, roads and driveways are bad! I almost got hit by Noble Hospital in Westfield. Only 1 of 4 towns I travel through had treatment down
  10. Serious icy roads this morning in Westfield coming down into Granby. 28°
  11. Radar for this evening looks paltry, thats shitty for those of you in Rio Linda. 18Z GFS has a sweet track, and little cold air. Rinse and repeat
  12. Meanwhile 6Z GFS offering up some hope for mixed scraps to rain in SNE on the 13th
  13. He doesn't always get snow.... but when he does, it makes his weenie grow
  14. The biggest issue is there's not a lot of cold around...again
  15. Amazing, they match? Miracles never cease lol
  16. I think he may mean we'll have back door cold, and a pattern we want now in April lol. At least I could see that happening
  17. And probably a lot more bud for some here if we finish this way...
  18. Ours house is a 1920 bungalow. In the 80s lots of it was gutted an renovated (unfortunately). Modern for the time insulation was added but there's still glaring issues we want address. Living room was blown out into an inset front porch with no basement underneath. Times like last night you can just feel the cold radiating in from outside. Our goal this year is to open up underneath remove all the old fiberglass bat insulation and spray enclosed cell foam. A custom of mine just did the same thing and the different is amazing. I wish I could afford to do the whole house!!
  19. The GFS vs CMC evolution for the 11th is interesting. Canadian looks like what would evolve on the GFS if it could link the cold with energy off the coast, but just doesn't. I could be wrong but I believe Tip mentioned the model doing something like this yesterday.
  20. I didn't see this before I posted below. There's many accounts of +- 2 feet in '78 in areas of western CT and yet all the official measurements seem low.
