  1. Well... a lot of the snow we received in 96 was modeled to be rain in SNE a week out. Many that year trended colder close in. Vastly different modeling accepted
  2. It is here! Out in the shop finishing up an engine build for a friends Baja Bug. Spiced cider moonshine... just a sip for now. Now, did I remember to tighten those head studs?...
  3. Well some... yeah I see that, but far from everyone. However it is the first "threat" that's showing up in a while, and IS something legit to watch for now. It's something to look at this evening while I'm trying to keep the eyes open awaiting midnight tonight.
  4. just looking for something to track. It doesn't necessarily have to work out in my eyes. I'm just happy to see a little atmospheric reshuffle
  5. LOL yeah, I remember the 80s well. You figure it had to happen again at some point... just please, not the hair
  6. Why not post the latest GFS out in LA LA land, and not an old run? A little different I would say, and also why looking that far ahead in this pattern is just downright foolish
  7. December is USUALLY not a thing in CT anyway so...? Sure it will usually feel more wintry but I never expect much for snow
  8. That's a good idea. Better do it before some here fire up the 2024 lawn thread
  9. Time to break out an old classic for D.I.T.
  10. 1990 was terrible. We were doing some electrical rough ins on new houses. There were a couple days in January and February where were were wearing T shirts by noon. 1989 wasn't much better except for the Thanksgiving storm. I was lucky enough to be on the Cape for that! Talk about a surprise storm! Forecasters in the area couldn't keep up. We ended up with 18 inches in Truro
  11. Seems like quite the high pressure that's plowing right through... an evolution guaranteed to change 50 times between now and then, but some forget this
  12. That works... because one of my guys got his bucket truck stuck in his back yard trying to install Christmas lights and we need it for a job... Ain't coming out til the ground hardens
  13. Exactly. It's been all over the place. If something good pops it's going to be within 5 days. Too much run to run discontinuity. AND... pea soup again here tonight. We had several slick spots this morning due to the fog
  14. The GFS... 3 or so days ago lol
  15. Yeah... Mr. Weenie Intoleris forecasts leave something to be desired... like every other social media forecaster.
  16. Sporadic black ice and fog on the way to the office this A.M. although fog isn't nearly as thick here as last night. 34 degrees
  17. Toxic positivity LO Effing L thats a new one! Spoken like a true snowflake...
  18. It was getting thick heading from Simsbury back to Westfield about a half hour ago!
  19. I see what you mean... and no eggnog this time. As the model world turns. That thing on the 3rd is slightly interesting also, even though it's for the fish at the moment
  20. Yeah, I see what you mean... now that I'm not viewing through spiked eggnog glasses
  21. Looks like the 00Z GFS may be seeing this to some extent
  22. The level of run to run change in the long range is a reminder that when we finally do get something decent, it won't show up until within 5 days. I'm just happy to see some form of winter type pattern. Now we just wait for something to hopefully pop
  23. You really think Twitter was any good before him?? All those media outlets have always been a sewer. I'd think some would thank him for finally helping them realize it. I seriously never found any useful weather info (or other) on there ever. If it was, it was drown out by hype generating forecasters.
  24. I was just thinking the exact same thing. Over these many years I've realized I've drawn mental images of all of you via posts and emojis. Some rocket scientist types sipping fine booze in the McMansion, and others 40 something and living in moms basement... and everything in between
