  1. February is a lame month for snow the last several years out here at least.
  2. UK looks good for this area. Local ski hill is very close to full game on. Nice meat and potatoes Friday night helps cover the rocks.
  3. Lanesborough. About 45 mins from my house. 112, 116 and then some side roads.
  4. Deep winter up in Savoy on my drive though this morning.
  5. Having skied at prospect mountain and areas around Woodford I can say that area gets legit snowfall. Woodford will usually exceed Mount Snow’s snowfall totals. Mount Snow is only about 10 miles to the east. I’ve heard the high areas of mount Glastonbury get extremely deep snow pack.
  6. Sloppy inch here. Berkshire East saying 4” some folks have said 6-8” above 1200’. I got one child still sleeping the other is shredding the gnar!
  7. Sneaky spot for this one is Dutch Hill. PowderBeard knows what I'm talking about. May almost be skiable when all is said and done.
  8. This next storm should help Wildcat's snowmaking problems!
  9. Just read that when I searched for the storm on google! That may have been the greatest winter ever! The early February storm was very impressive as well!
  10. Maybe Saturday can work out for out here. A couple inches is better than nothing.
  11. I'll take my chances with a SWFE as well. Some of our biggest storms here are from SWFE's.
  12. If work wasn't a factor, Maine teachers don't get paid well. Rangeley, ME is a great spot. Big lakes for summer, great skiing in the winter. Great snowpack retention.
  13. I've been lurking in here a long time and now a post a little bit. I'd like to point out how many times everyone on this forum has melted much of mid December to January. How many times have things turned themselves around vs not? Long range models are great, ensembles are great, but it seems people get way into looking into the future rather than just letting things happen. If winter doesn't pan out so be it, blame climate change, rake your lawn and move on to summer activities. But anything can happen if we just be patient. I remember skiing in a t-shirt at Sunday River around this day in 2007, full manmade snow. 6 weeks late I was throwing back flips off a deck into snow up in Huntington, VT.
  14. Happy for the Browns, not many sports franchises worse than them. Sadly for them they have to play Mahomes and the Chiefs next week. Enjoy the week Cleveland!
  15. After today it would see that there is a nice long window for snowmaking. Guns should be firing up tonight here at Berkshire east.
  16. Wildcat probably gets sold off. It doesn't really fit Vail's profile. There is no lodging or on site dining besides the bar. Mount Snow, Okemo, Attitash, Stowe, Sunapee are very resorty, Wildcat is not really.
  17. New ski boots are here on Tuesday. Coming from EVO, maybe they bring some of that NW snow with them! Mount Baker 140" base!
  18. Berkshire east was fun today. Haven't been skiing in a few days due to trying to buy a car. It was nice to make some turns with both my kids. Drank a couple beers in the lot and hit up the outdoor food service window. Everything is going pretty smoothly over there. Their terrain is really very limited though. Only three routes off the top basically. Hopefully they will have upper competition open after this event is over tomorrow and things freeze up again.
  19. What a glorious winter that was! Freshmen year at UNH, massive piles of snow everywhere in Durham.
  20. Or 2015. December 2015 sucked in general. Might have been both.
  21. I remember 2014 my kids were playing in the brook by the house and it was 75 christmas eve.
  22. Santa must really hate snow! Who doesn't love a torch cutter on Christmas? This will not be good for the Christmas week. I think it's time for mounting more skis and breaking in my new ski boots. Maybe it's time to get out and cut some more glades!
  23. Beast did only have 7 trails open. Everything else was “skiable.” Best was the lower angle stuff. Fat skis helped a lot too. I did not ski lift line. Jug was a blast. Honestly, Berkshire east is never fully game on, maybe once every few years for like three days. There is always rocks and stumps to hit in the woods.
