    I saw the blob of rain heading up 95 when I went to bed last night, but was surprised to see how much rain fell when I went outside this morning. I'm guessing we got 0.5-0.6" or so from that. Just a crazy tropical-feeling week or so period here. I can't recall a one like it recently.

    I know folks have discussed PWSs before, but I haven’t really thought hard about getting one and so I’ve ignored the discussion a bit. I’m not looking to spend more than a couple hundred bucks for one, but I’d ideally get one that interfaces with Weather Underground and one which would be good for submitting obs to CoCoRaHs. Suggestions?

    2.24” radar estimate for last night IMBY. I was tired and just didn’t feel like waiting around, and even when one huge strike woke us up just past midnight, I put my head down and went back to sleep.

    The HRRR has been awful all week. Couldn’t even care less what it shows.

    Wasn’t a terribly interesting storm other than a strike that was no more that 200 yards away. Heavy rain for 4-5 minutes and no wind. Just want some stratiform rain for an hour or two now.

    We were originally planning to do happy hour at the pool, but no reason to get all kitted out only to have the pool probably close for thunder within an hour. And I think we’re getting some thunder now, so there you go!

    Nice! I’ve already got three gallon bags of cored and seeded tomatoes in the freezer, with at least 4x that many on the vine right now. Gonna need to make and can some salsa before too long!

    Just had some heavy rain for five minutes this evening in Burke, followed by stratiform stuff after the line went through. No complaints, though. Severe is interesting, but just getting some light rain for an hour or two works perfectly at this time of year.

    12z NAM isn't enthused on the ground, but yeah...there's plenty of CAPE to be had. HRRR has gotten a little more interested with each run this morning, even if not all in.

    Extremely localized microburst? Losing AC in high heat indexes is brutal. If I were them, I'd head out, as well.
