  1. hit -27F in N Foster RI in 1996, and -17 where I was 15 mi east. yore
  2. whew thank god we survived the "epicosity" again. It was a wild, special ordeal but we made it
  3. or this one is rather juicy, too. you can imagine the melts if that D9 one hugs/cuts
  4. January is half over, it doesn't appear any major storms are on the horizon, not even a killer cutter. let's face it, it's time to move onto next month
  5. On the bright side, the 12z Euro OP has a D13 snower for NNE
  6. I agree with slightly below to near normal snowfall for most of NE, but it'll probably be mostly 1-2 storms with a few torches thrown in that weigh everything ++. Like a general 2-4 maybe higher in spots ...of course saying that, it'll be SWFE flow express days and days setups all month =)
  7. With January flying by, winter will soon be quickly winding down as we head through February. Often a prolific snow month, wintry and white may be in the cards, but LR models/seasonal forecasts have been quite mild if not torchy (which can work for NNE, especially). Let's discuss the end of winter!
  8. are you saying we just don't know yet?
  9. days and days... until it's inside D10
  10. 6-12" is considered major/historic according to late 1980's/early 1990's. Speaking for SNE/CNE
  11. no one knows what will happen. Maybe they do, or do not. Let's see what the future holds, it may surprise some.
  12. That said, onward and upward!@
  13. the "look" blows, no offense. I guess if you want overrunning precip and qpf just to fight droughts it works
  14. anyway, onto positive vibes; who's firing up that February thread?
  15. I am not confident, but if it happens let's let it happen soon and not April/May
  16. Plenty of anticipation, ambitions for the back half of winter. swfe is my least-favorite winter "storm" event mode, but we'll remain upbeat and optimistic
  17. February thread! Yeah we mentioned that last week
  18. Nearing the halfway mark of winter! wow
  19. +3.2" for 5.2" season. I moved 1.5 mi. NW around .5 mile from 495/route 3, but will use same snow total.
