Also, The 12z GFS is bringing back the more significant storm potential for next Sunday.
This run is front end thump of snow especially for the western half of CTP, but the potential is there.

they always push the snows and cold further back and we look at them. saying its only a week away 2 days later it shows a app or lake cutter and its 50 and rain vs 25 and snow or a mix

  2. Almost 50 today and now looking at the midrange the cold air got pushed back for forecast time frame now only mid to upper 30s. when yesterday same time frame the same days was in the 20s :( at this point just bring on spring. Im tired of the cold air being pushed back every year for the last few. Why I was surprised we got the few days of artic chill. but even that too only lasted 2-3 days when it was forecasted to last week or 2 at the start.

I assumed main roads would be ok with extremely marginal temps but that first push of snow was so heavy it overwrote that issue.

At the start of the event until 12:30 roads were pretty bad a few accidents on 83 Tho that first burst of snow had to be like 2 inchs in the first hour it was pretty crazy. Id say we may hit 4 inchs at the end but most likely 3.5 mdt area

Surely,, but a bit surprised it made it that far north when I am still snowing here....though it has stopped now as the dryslot has pulled in.   The rgem had a blotchy precip map like that last night.  I am not so keen on giving the GFS too much credit.  It had 5" over MDT last evening.

yeah still snow here near middletown area all snow temp 31-32 keeps bouncing

GFS for sure if Cashtown’s saying he has almost 4”. That was about the only model that was consistently showing that kind of snow that far into the LSV while keeping the widespread advisory totals in the rest of central PA.

I got a quick 2 inches first hour. it slowed up a bit but still coming down.

I was thinking waking hours for morning 6- 8, 8-10, and 10-12.  Some model depictions have both a MSLP (pressure)/Precip option as well as a Radar option so you can see what they are predicting virga wise.  The GFS on TT has this.  MSLP and Precip is predicting actual precip on the ground while radar will often show the virga.
