Perhaps sometimes in some places, on the whole I don't agree with you. Lots of examples today of locations with much cooler temps than surrounding areas. You can't tell me that all of the instruments are whacked at MDT, Inner Harbor, Annapolis, etc. It's not the instruments, it's the effect of adjacent very chilly waters this time of year.

no i was replying to how the temp swung so many times in 10 mins by several degree's. also I am in the back yard of the air port I have a digital and old fashioned thermometer and the airpart thats maybe 500 yard away can be off by as much as 7-9 degree's at times

There is most definitely a water influence in today's temps - at 2pm, it was 77 at BWI and 61 at the Inner Harbor. Even more impressive...it was 49 at Annapolis at 2pm.

yeah local weather guy pounding his chest saying 74 I dont buy the model low balling the numbers saying only 65. he about all but just called his own model trash but put it on tv for people to see.

That is pretty odd.   There has always been something brewing for the tue-wed time frame.   Here is the GFS from 48 hours ago.

actually its par for the course. if you ever go past day 5 on local or even nws casts vs models. they are very hesitant to put any storms past those days most times. unlike summer where they normally do. Ive seen times where I look 7 plus days out the temp will swing 20-30 sometimes and it will go from sunny to heavy precip 5 times

Of note is this shocker CMC panel which also has the ebb and flow from cold to warm the next two weeks...one very warm ebb.  It has never hit 80 at MDT in Feb (recorded history.)

this always happens honestly the last few years when models show cold 1-2 weeks out it always gets pushed back another 1-2 weeks and the prev so called cold snap out of no where becomes a warm snap. so if I remember this time period was shown to be in the 20s but now in the 70s? lol a 50 degree turn in a week wow

MDT's high was 58 so far today....between midnight and 1AM.    Sometimes they adjust it up so could be 59.

ah ok I was on my way home around midnight It didnt feel to warm but maybe was me. but could of sworn the high today was suppose to be upper 60s as of yesterday. at least what the radio weather was saying when I was out.

It looks like MDT ended up well short of 60 degrees today as of the 5 pm summary.

Not even the new forms of creative rounding gets this high of 54 up to a 60.

yep no amount of fudging the numbers could get to 60. but years from now don t be surprised if they say today hit records of 60. just like years ago when those emails leaked saying they rounded numbers up or just flat out lied about numbers for temps. with that said my dad still lives right near the airport and so many times the airport reports temps 3-6 degree's higher then what his backyard says with a old school thermometer and a new digital one.
