  1. Agree with this. And the sad part to me is that a lot of people actually evacuated from Tampa to Fort Myers. If the message from the beginning had been "no where on the west coast of Florida is safe" I wonder how different the outcome would have been. Obviously I have no clue if a Tampa evacuee lost their life or not. But that doesnt matter to my point. The message should have been "leave the Florida west coast now".
  2. Yeah. I am sure you are fine with it. Around average and all for Boston. It is what it is. We all know what Nina's mean for our area. I am just hoping to break 20 out here in the mountains.
  3. First quad Nina next year?
  4. Accuweather says only 3-5 days of falling snowfall for DC this winter. Winter is over. Where is Ji? "This winter, AccuWeather is predicting that Washington, D.C., will experience accumulating snow on only three to five days throughout the season with total accumulations amounting to 6 to 10 inches, just below the average of 13.7 inches." https://www.accuweather.com/en/winter-weather/accuweather-2022-2023-us-winter-forecast/1252283
  5. Yep. Just a straight up nasty day. And tomorrow will be the same.
  6. What a beast. Reminds me of the Superstorm a little bit. Big boy for sure.
  7. SevereStudios has some pretty good cams again today of surge in SC for anyone interested. Pawleys Island seems to getting the worst of it so far.
  8. Crazy how the surge swept all of these trailers into a heap. What a mess.
  9. Crazy looking storm. Noreaster/tropical storm mix.
  10. I mean not being political either. But a lot of the people that evacuated the Tampa area evacuated to Fort Myers. So yeah. I think next time when people are told to evacuate it needs to be to the other coast of Florida depending on which coast is getting hit. The cone is the cone and it will almost always verify.
  11. They already upped it to 80 at second landfall. It wont really mean anything for most of us though. Just a breezy rainstorm.
  12. It was amazing out here in the Winchester area. Stunning. Sat on the deck and felt a little chilly for the first time this year. Man I love the fall.
  13. Yeah. I am worried about it. The beach is still really small from last years Noreasters. They didnt have time to replenish it before this season properly.
  14. Thing is the tech is pretty damn astounding at this point. We are at a point in time where Canes can be forecast before they even form. And the track of those unformed canes can be pretty well tracked out days in advance. I dont know how they can do much better than they do now.
  15. Coast Guard posting overflight pics as they come in. https://www.dvidshub.net/search/?q=hurricane+Ian&filter[branch]=Coast+Guard&view=grid
  16. Gotta stay out of the main thread. Stupidity is running rampant in there. GFS seems to be getting wetter with every run. 12Z pushes substantial rains up into central PA this run.
  17. Horrifying thread on Twitter with those missing in St James City. The stories of last contact with people underwater and pictures of them are just so incredibly sad.
  18. So many posts on Twitter looking for people in St. James City that are missing. It is on the southern end of Pine Island. That area likely is completely gone. No images I can find from there at all.
  19. The tip of Sanibel Island is gone. Lighthouse survived. But wow:
