It seems to be that the new norm is all of the cold air being trapped on the wrong side of the hemisphere for us. This is like 5 winters in a row at this point. Historic cold in Siberia. It is getting old.
Had about 3/4 inch on my car when I left for work this morning at 6:30. Have no clue what the max was out here NW of Winchester. Just gonna go with .75 as my ob. Glad many got on the board. It's a good sign for the rest of the winter.
Flakes about 10 miles to my west near Capon Bridge on traffic cams. May start sooner here than I thought.

Radar looks juicy down on the Gulf coast. Should have plenty of moisture up here later. Not sure if the trajectory will work out for those of us to the west. But someone is gonna get some heavy rates up here at least.
So far the 12z models seem to want to keep the surface warmer than they were last night. Soundings last night had snow falling with 33 degree temps at the surface here. 12z suite so far is 37-38.
