It seems to be that the new norm is all of the cold air being trapped on the wrong side of the hemisphere for us. This is like 5 winters in a row at this point. Historic cold in Siberia. It is getting old.

Had about 3/4 inch on my car when I left for work this morning at 6:30. Have no clue what the max was out here NW of Winchester. Just gonna go with .75 as my ob. Glad many got on the board. It's a good sign for the rest of the winter.

This right here. We have above average winters when we score Noreasters. Thats it. And Nino;s are where we normally get them.

18Z HRRR is sweet for the Shenandoah Valley. Huge improvement.

Radar looks juicy down on the Gulf coast. Should have plenty of moisture up here later. Not sure if the trajectory will work out for those of us to the west. But someone is gonna get some heavy rates up here at least.

There just isnt really a cold air mass behind this front. Cold enough to snow? Sure I guess. But not cold at all.

I dont really care about any of them at this point. I care about the radar. Thats about it.

So far the 12z models seem to want to keep the surface warmer than they were last night. Soundings last night had snow falling with 33 degree temps at the surface here. 12z suite so far is 37-38.

Yeah. NAM sucks for our area. Thank god is sucks as a weather model as well.

I agree about the temps going in. But this sounding from my area is gorgeous. Would be a beatdown for a couple of hours at least.
