    If the cold is here in March I will take my chances. Way easier to get amped systems in March than the dead of winter. We'll see. But I do like our chances for something mid month for sure.

    No one ever talks about it. And I got more snow from 03 than 96 here. Snow in an imby game. Like always.

    Personally I think 03 was a better storm than 96. It is the most underrated storm in our area IMO. Still a couple of legit chances showing up on the GFS this run. The one toward the end of next week is interesting. Amped up but west. Then jumps too late for us. Definitely something to watch though.

    I am not quite ready to call it yet. I think that mid March threat has a legit chance. It would melt 2 days later. But thats how we roll in March. After that I will take the torch.

    I quit Facebook 3 years ago. I am a much more sane human being after doing it. Gonna add to this after reading the posts after this one that I am also an outdoor person. Coming into garden season very soon. And this year will be the biggest garden I have ever done. Over 1/4 acre and trying all kinds of new veggies I have never grown before. Looking forward to success and failure. Failures lead to learning.

    That chance around the 15th that has been showing up for a couple of days is probably our last hoorah. I hope it works out for a 6 inch paste bomb and then we go to 70's with an occasional chance of severe. This winter has really beat me up mentally.

    Pretty nasty out here in the Winchester area now. Some sidewalks have started to ice. Hopefully we can get above freezing tonight at some point.

    About as crappy as weather gets in all honesty. 32 and drizzle.

    Its pretty cool how the short range models are picking up the COD against the western side of the Blue Ridge. Cant say I ever remember seeing that in the past. I still dont expect this to be a big deal. Even out here in the Shen Valley. But thought that was neat.

    I would prefer to see the PV drop a little further south for us. At least as far as snow chances go. But that cant be resolved this far out anyways. At least we are still going to be tracking threats into March.

    I drove down to Staunton from Winchester this morning for work. it snowed off and on the entire way down 81 here. Beautiful winter drive with everything covered. Had about a half inch at home when I left. Dont know where we ended up though.

    RGEM is better this run. An inch or two for the cities north and west. It was a dumpster fire last run so that is good I guess.

    Just been reading about Beijings annual snowfall. The city itself averages less than an inch per year. The mountains to the NW where all of the events are being held average about 8 inches total per year. They are getting hammered by more than that today. But why the hell would they put the winter Olympics there with such a low annual snowfall amount?

    If we do end up with a Nino next year we will be fine. Active southern stream should give you plenty of that. And chances for big storms as well.

    Yeah. I am not sure we really have a decent short range model at all in all honesty. I think the FV3 is supposed to end up being that. But lets hope its wrong about this one. It looks like every other event this winter.

    I have had covid for a week as of tomorrow. And it is no joke. I dont want to know what its like to have it without being vaccinated. It is bad enough as is.
