  1. It would be nice to see other models pivot toward the GFS current solution today and to see ensembles show some support. Like a lot of our setups, until we get into the short range, it could go either way. At least with cold air around we are in the ballpark.
  2. Hope the GFS is right but WB 6Z GEFS support is minimal.
  3. WB latest weeklies, pattern relaxes during first week of February.
  4. WB 18Z GFS. No fantasy snowstorm this run but the Friday low everyone is worried about is much weaker and further out to sea compared to 12Z.
  5. 12Z EPS through Day 7. Some good hits and some misses…
  6. WB 0Z EURO v. 12Z. Blend of the two is bingo Day 6-7.
  7. My advice is not to sweat every 6 hour operational run yet for next weekend’s potential. WB 6Z GFS v. 12Z GFS makes the point.
  8. NWS extended the advisory until 1pm for NW suburbs. Light glaze on deck in Brunswick. 32 degrees.
  9. WB 6Z EPS says be patient. No storms through Friday.
  10. WB 0Z EPS….with some luck we are still on track to enter into a cold and snowy period In mid to late January. I say some luck because the control, not shown, is the bust scenario.
  11. I thought this Friday would be too soon, but WB 12Z to 18Z EPS interesting shift, let’s see if the trend continues…
  12. WB EURO Control Snow map as requested, again details to be determined but I am hopeful a lot of us will see at least one more storm in the next 2 weeks. (Nothing through the 15th except our freezing rain in am ).
  13. WB 12Z EURO Control has a version of the GFS blizzard as well same timeframe.
  14. It is exciting to see potential in the next 2 weeks. I know the experts hate the snow maps but they show both the dream scenario and the bust potential. We will need some more luck….never thought we would be looking for a mega southern storm in a Nina year. WB 0Z EPS
