  1. Thank you for the info. Though the two graphs have a different y axis max despite being about the same image size so it makes it look like the percentage difference between the two is minimal. I thought that until I realized the bottom pic went to 60 instead of 50 haha.
  2. I love these stats and the way you visualize them. Put things in perspective. Can you also do >70F?
  3. He wasn't old enough to remember (and he still kind of isn't) but we did get above average snow in 20-21.
  4. Are they still tracking squirrels in the New England subforum?
  5. I found a couple of nearby Ambient stations that dropped to 47 degrees, like a couple miles SE of me.
  6. I've had a few close calls in the low 50s but never actually below 50. I am not that far from the water either, places that are a few miles south of me more in the central part of the island away from the Sound and the ocean get a little bit cooler than me. Plus my thermometer is like 20 feet up and not the best location unfortunately. All that combines for elevated temps.
  7. 6Z GFS says the last day over 70 is this Tuesday for the duration of the run.
  8. My thermometer is 20 feet up, I bet I could have squeezed out a few more tenths if I had it at 2 meters.
  9. First 40s here, 49.6 degrees. LGA low was 57 degrees hahaha
  10. Thank you for the exaplanation, I've been out of the loop for awhile. I figured it must have been better than documenting squirrel activity haha
  11. Have you seen the last few years of winter here? Like I said I'll take any help I can get.
  12. Tons of Siberian snowcover early this season. Hopefully it continues through October when it matters more. I'll take any help I can get to bring us a more snowy winter.
  13. Snow on Mt. Olympus and a couple other ski resorts in Greece. Maybe we can get a cold pool to swing through like the they just got in eastern Europe. I don't want to see temps over 70 until next May. But we all know what to expect over the next week
  14. It's legit cold in the shade with the breeze. Granted I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt
  15. I remember like 20+ years ago I drove through there one night in October and I hit 38 degrees on the car thermometer while back at home in NE Queens (not that urban compared to the rest of the city) it was still in the mid 50s. It's so rural and beautiful there.
  16. The 72 is wrong. No model has temps that low for the weekend for NJ.
  17. What is up with the persistent torching during Christmas week? It's like the planet knows to mess with us during the worst possible time.
  18. Muttontown and a bit northwest of there is such an ideal spot for radiational cooling for a location so "close" to the city.
  19. How can the temperature indoors drop so quickly that you need to turn on a space heater with lows in the mid 50s?
  20. How in the world did Shirley on the east end manage to get calm winds with these NE breezes?
  21. The spread between LGA and Newark is pretty significant for a monthly anomaly no?
  22. The 18z GFS has tons of below normal temps for much of the run. I choose to believe it for no other reason than I simply like what it shows.
  23. You moved south at a time when the water is now extra toasty so your cooling seabreezes aren't what they used to be.
