Do the people who are all gung ho for record heat and say they like it actually spend any appreciable time in it? Going from an air conditioned car to an air conditioned office to an air condirtioned home does not impress me.
Granted I think @LibertyBell actually enjoys suffering in heat if he sleeps in temps over 80 voluntarily. I'm not so sure about some other people.
When you're 95 to 100 you don't expect to be in the mid 80s by 5PM.
A couple models have 70s.
One of the worst parts of heatwaves in the city is the temps staying at absurdly high levels deep into the night. Being 80 degrees at 5PM is actually quite comfortable lol
I wouldn't call that normal for a "major heatwave"
Late day highs as far as I'm concerned are still a bust. Peaking at 90 for like an hour when you spent most of the day in the 70s and some 80s and the expected highs were mid 90s+ and sunny produces a total different day perception wise.
