  1. What is the distribution of highs at Central Park during the summer season? I always feel like the station is trolling us with what feels like a large number 89s it records.
  2. If I go by Central Park's average for my location, which is probably more in line since its numbers are cooler overall than the more urban spots of the city, the closest ambient station to me is -3.5 degreess so far for the month.
  3. I was just busting your balls But regarding your post, different stations already have their UHI level or general microclimate baked into their averages. Your -5 low might be 58 but my -5 low is more like 63 and LGA's -5 is 66. Many times that's where the difference lies, not that you or other places achieved a greater departure.
  4. @FPizz can't wait to see this post, it's his favorite subject.
  5. Did anyone's gutters get overwhelmed? I just fixed a pitching issue about a week ago and this is the first time it has rained since and today the rain overflowed and went right over the edge of the gutter. It overflowed in an area where the roof, when looking at it from the front, is two triangles side to side with a dip in the middle. Where the dip is the water flows forward like a river toward the street facing gutter. Now I'm wondering if the rain was just too much for any gutter to handle or if I still have a problem.
  6. People should be allowed to swim if they want. Lifeguards or not. Should we hire armed guards to make sure no one sneaks onto the beach after all beachgoers have been escorted off the sand when the lifeguards leave? If the the town put up appropriate signs of dangers then after that it's up to you if you want to ignore them.
  7. The 18z GFS has a recurver off the coast next Friday, but with some high clouds and NE or easterly winds, it gets us to near 90 degrees? That's BS
  8. It happens to be in an area that is 3 to 5 degrees warmer than everyone else. It's not a sensor problem. Look at me, during the day I equal or beat LGA for highs, northern Queens even in the east where it's suburban is just hotter than other spots that are actually more urban.
  9. And in 5 years these departures are going to be -4 and we are going to be saying oh wow look how cold it was meanwhile 5 years ago these were all closer to -2.x
  10. While today got into the low 90s by me the seabreeze was furious in the late after and brought me down to a comfortable upper 70s by late afternoon/evening with dews not being out of control.
