  1. I'm for an annual injection. This isn't some pie in the sky stuff like deploying mirrors in space to reflect the Sun, it can be done. And while we clamp down on the warming with the injections, we can still transition to clean energy, manufacturing, transportation, etc and eventually stop the aerosols. People constantly act like this is a USA problem when we're only responsible for 10% of greenhouse gases. We need to act now before sht goes off the rails. Can't wait for the rest of the world to do anything, because they're not.
  2. 20 million tons of sulfur dioxide into stratosphere dropped the global temperature by 1 degree F. This can be done. All of you poo pooing this will regret it.
  3. You must have me mixed up with someone else. I know we won't get the rest of the world that produces 90% of the greenhouse pollution on board with completely eliminating them, so we should just inject aerosols into the stratosphere annually to bring down temps to where they were at least 30 years ago. Did you die when Mount Pinatubo erupted? Were your days shrouded in darkness because of the eruption?
  4. This is not a counterargument lol
  5. Yea I love how everyone just acts like pumping out hundreds of billions of metric tons of greenhouse gases is NOT geoengineering lolol
  6. I can get used to hotter summers. I won't ever get used to dewpoints averaging 75 to 80. I also don't want evapotranspiration exacerbating droughts, also allowing pests to better kill trees, having worse wildfires, having more intense monster rainfalls, etc. There has to be an endpoint to the warming. We can't just let this keep happening perpetually. I have zero hope we can get the rest of the world on board regarding getting rid of greenhouse gases. So since they can pollute unilaterally then we can do annual stratospheric aerosol injections unilaterally. I think in the end shit will get so bad that we wind up doing the injections anyway, just 30 or 40 years down the road.
  7. Of course it is. The world was doing that for almost all of the industrial age. Did you have a problem with it then? You only have a problem with only the type of pollution you can see?
  8. Turkey broke their all time record and hit 50.5C, breaking the previous record of 49.5C set ONLY LAST YEAR
  9. It would be a stratospheric injection, @FPizz acts like it will look like Delhi, India circa 1990.
  10. Breaking: the Chinese are performing a MASSIVE atmospheric experiment by releasing 15 billion metric tons of greenhouse gases annually, never notified Americans! Click below to find out more! And you're worried about a small water vapor cloud lol
  11. You wouldn't even notice the dimming bud, sort of like the way you pretend you don't notice climate change either.
  12. Summer sucks. All we get now is wildfire smoke, dewpoints of 90, or rain. Can we get on the geoengineering already. What can possibly go wrong that's not already fccked up
  13. Wow the air significantly more disgusting now than it was a few hours ago
  14. This is where I got it from: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=Klga
  15. It's all detached houses and lawns suburbia style where I am and it basically hit 100 here as well.
  16. It's hard to read on that graph, but on the detailed look you can see it peaked at 99.9 lol no joke
  17. The Ambient station a couple blocks away from me dropped about 20 degrees in minutes with the heavy rain:
  18. The local Ambient stations peaked right at 100, now they're around 98 degrees.
  19. Wow I'm at 98/76 HI 113F. There are other nearby stations corroborating these numbers.
