.38" last 24 hrs.. The Central Valley has been dry for the past month.  The cutoff has been the Blue Ridge. Charlottesville received 1.00" past 24.

Yup in my last post a few days ago, I mentioned how I didn't like how this was beginning to trend...

  2. Only received 0.93 inches of total precip this month , following 6.58 for January.... Since mid November we have for the most part made up for that crushing drought in the Valley last year, but heading into the spring growing season down here we certainly don't want a drier than normal March following this February... The drought may have ended but it was still going strong only 3 months ago... Not sure if the ground water level has fully recovered yet...

The Annual AMS is in Baltimore this year so I’m walking around downtown right now among sad Ravens fans.  If I squint at the purple I get bad Vikings flashbacks.

One of the NFL's biggest mysteries is how the hell the Vikings haven't once made it back to Super Bowl since the 70's despite having one the top cumulative win loss records the past 45 years...

Me too. As a Jet fan, We never have anything to celebrate. Why I hate the Bills. But Burrow Mahones and Allen and Herbert. AFC  is stacked, and this is the worst chiefs team in years. They could’ve been taken

There just isnt much to ever celebrate as a Jets fan....Rare occasion the Jets make the playoffs they actually do fairly well, but there are other players besides Brady that have more playoff appearances than the Jets....

  5. I've always been a Jets fan so there's that.... This may have been the Ravens best shot at a Super Bowl , Jackson improved as a passer this year for certain ....But Rodgers , Herbert and more importantly Burrow lost for the season.... Too many injuries for the Bills defense, and simply put the Chiefs were not as good on offense this year as the past...Plus Jackson stayed perfectly healthy the entire season....This was the Ravens shot..

half inch per hour rates is my def.

Anybody in the central Valley still awake and seeing flakes? It is snowing in Hburg right now.

Just got home in Waynesboro from work in Charlottesville , nothing falling , granted we are on the southern edge of this expected event....

Oragraphic lift will create some very heavy downpours on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge. Would expect some 4 - 6 inch totals.

Hopefully some of those rates in western Albemarle will sneak over to eastern Augusta 2mar...Growing up in nw Albemarle along the Moormans and Doyle's rivers with big flooding is what started my love for weather... Nov 85.   April 92.   June 95 were the most memorable... This setup of a huge moisture feed up the entire coast reminds me a bit of April 92 ...

i mean it generally is supposed to be easier for it to snow in CHICAGO than in the southern Mid Atlantic.

Can't argue with that statement!  Except for that type of event on the gfs which is more likely to be in the mid atlantic historically... Can't find more than a dozen 15 inch + storms there since the 1800s....

  9. Finished with only 0.5 from the event... Looks as if December will finish up at 4.61 ... This late year push of  rainfall since the middle of November finally pushed my year total just over the 30 inch mark...3 months ago I didn't think I would pass the 23 or 24 inch mark it was that bad down here....

That post where the random guy mentioned inhaling the second hand crystal meth was probably one of the best posts of all time on this board (excepting of couse @Jebman 's finest). Sorry @Weather Will

I dont post often , usually just obs but thank you - I'm honored !!!  I'm glad that I was able to bring a laugh out of some of you guys at the expense of my younger self.... But seriously once that stuff wore off , for the next 12 hours or so my mind was so clear and bright that I felt like I could solve the world's problems maybe cure cancer, build a time machine and looking back now maybe invent a weather model that would be 100% accurate a month in advance...

  11. Bit off topic, but speaking of hallucinations and the weather... Late in the 90s a bunch of us 20 yr olds went to a skynyrd concert in northern Va in different cars.. Me and a friend riding with me forgot where I parked 'large parking lot and had never been there before' ... It started pouring rain , some random dudes gave us a lift to find my car.. They started smoking PCP even though we were total strangers... I opened the window to avoid the 2nd hand smoke - it didn't work... The ride back down 29 to Cville was a disaster... I was seeing tornados in the lightning,  trees were tractors and somewhere near culpeper Abe Lincoln was standing on the side of the road , he jumped on my hood he flew through my car , I looked at him and he looked at me and flew out the back... Got to northern Charlottesville and it wore off like I woke up from a dream... How I drove down 29 I'll never know, but it scared the hell out of me after I "woke" up.....
