.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/... MID-MORNING UPDATE: CONFIDENCE IS INCREASING THAT THAT THE GREATEST THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS, AND ESPECIALLY FLASH FLOODING MAY BE FROM THE BALTIMORE METRO AREA NORTH AND EAST.
Well I and my fellow desert rats are just shocked!
My bar is a half inch and one rumble of pity thunder but that will take some luck
Yeah , despite what the radar is showing down here, official total so far is .0000.... some spots are going to end up with very little..

.02 since last Saturday in my backyard, but at work over here in Charlottesville today and it's another day and another deluge over here... Charlottesville has to be the wettest city in Virginia in the summer months... I'm beginning to think that's why Jefferson who was a weather fanatic settled where he did, he probably realized this place was usually wetter than the surrounding areas ....

I received .61" from 2-3 in moderate showers and a few rumbles of thunder. That brings me up to 4.76" since Monday.
.42 today - weekly total 4.67

4.15 inches for the week... about 28% of my year to date precip has fallen this week...

Very much needed, perfect type of week long system to ease or break the drought..As long as we don't have to wait till late July for our next rainfall - which has been the pattern.
-
Off and on moderate rain most of the day so far....really needed a week like this ...
-
2.53 total for the system so far , long duration off and on soaking...best event since last year , Late April event was 2.40 but that all fell in a few hours....
-
Heck of a zone of steady moderate to heavy rain has been setup along I64 from Goochland County to Staunton all afternoon... Likely 1 to 2 inch totals ...
-
Nice soaking band crossing the Blue Ridge down here... real nice to finally see rain again the last 48 hrs.... 1.22 total..

Despite all the radar echoes this evening, have so far only picked up .26 making it up to .41 for the month...but much needed - 3rd biggest event since early April..
-
And there's the weekly charlottesville deluge... has to be one of the wettest locales in the state this month

I don't even want to know if we got anything down the rd from you... We hadn't gotten anything when I left for work, radar did seem to show a cell pass over the northern part of town after I left... just a tenth would be nice... All I know is over here Cville just got rocked again... probably another inch and small hail..
Got .08 , brings total for the month to .15.

0.00 today...... 0.07 monthly ..... 1.78 since the late April event....

Moormans River near White Hall/Browns Cove in western Albemarle county just after it joins with the nearly bone dry Doyle's River - which makes up a good chunk of the Rivanna River... I was born and raised in this area , I have seen the water this low but always between August and Halloween, never this early in the year...

Yup map is pretty dam accurate, fits perfect with lack of rainfall here in Waynesboro - eastern Augusta... only 2 real rainfalls since March, the end of April event and the end of May event... a few hundredths here and there and a couple events around .10

For the first 14 days of June, I have received .12". Normal would have been 1.75". 6% of normal.
You got me beat , couple miles down the road from you , I've got .07

It would appear that the Wpc didn't lower the expected totals enough down here in the central valley....Unless a randon shower develops it looks like a finish with .04
-
Wpc keeps lowering expected rainfall amounts Monday with every update... I know the weather doesn't listen to human predictions but that's not a good sign.
-
Pretty intense rainstorm, vivid lightning at work eastern part of cville shadwell area.. easily 1 inch or more of rainfall...
