I think a lot of us are feeling that way.  It's been a completely sucky year and Mother Nature needs to throw us a bone.  I lost my father last month, not due to COVID, and tracking a snowstorm in December is the most fun I've had for quite a while!

I would enjoy a nice peaceful snow and I am rooting for it to occur , prior years I would be stressed over every model run.... but after this past Sept its just not the same.... lost a child..

Another day , another flood watch.. Set a personal record today with flood watches in a month - 31 years of record keeping...And another 0.00 in the gauge...

And now under another flood warning and still no rain in the gauge....

i guess i haven't been following closely enough to understand all the flood watches and excessive rainfall forecast. haven't seen shit for rain up here

Same here....probably the only place in Va that can say that... massive rain totals just minutes away in all directions ...1.72 inches

  4. Getting pounded in Waynesboro , Im not home im over in Charlottesville working so Im not sure how much is in my gauge on the Waynesboro line... The lady sent me pics of hail on her way home and said streets/roads are flooding.....

  5. Got right at 1 inch northern Waynesboro...much needed.. sort of uncommon for us to get that much rain from a single convective shower or storm... Huge difference just on the east side of the mts where I lived for my first 30 yrs , been keeping precip records since I was 12.. much much wetter on avg just to the east of the mts , mostly from the huge difference in the summer storms..

I have +-.90 in rain gauge since 7 am, and it is POURING, 1/2 of that has fell in last 45 minutes. I'm gonna add up what has fell since Saturday afternoon, BRB.......

Back, 3.79 (and increasing rapidly) since Saturday evening here, almost 5.5 inches for the month.  0.97/.98 in gauge now

.53 in gauge since Sat , all of that was last night... sounds like a rainforest developing in your yard the last couple of months....

I'm getting ready to call bust on the rain forecast.

Roanoke and surrounding counties have gotta be at least double avg ytd rainfall...Just the upper low last month and this one has dropped  15 to 20 inches combined down in that area...Seems like there are flood warnings every few days down there..

After about an 8 hour break, the rain has pinwheeled back in again. Looks like another soaker afternoon/evening on tap.

Send some up here... Love rainy days or nights.... Just clouds for a couple days not even a sprinkle here... Dry air winning out here again...

Sadly they have/are happening down this way. Wet, wet, wet.

My yard is still waiting to cross the 2inch mark for the month... we did manage to get 1.6 last week, most of it in the final night of the event ... so that saved us from potentialy finishing  May extremely dry....

Another 1.01 in the gauge this morning, bringing event total to 2.70 inches. And I am FINE with that, because in Roanoke area and just south they are closing in on double digit totals....NUTS!! It actually warmed here a bit overnight, currently 50.4/49.5 and the rain continues with an E wind at 8 mph. The 50.4 is another 'cool max' record, breaking 2002's 54 reading, the 1.01 is a new daily rainfall record, beating 2016's 0.63 inches. If I'd stayed in 40's it would have been my 2nd latest high below 50 degrees this late into the season.....oh well. Hope all along the rivers and creeks stay safe, especially those a bit south of me!!

Only have had .82 in my gauge for the entire month a couple miles from Afton eastern Augusta county..

If you add up snow for dc metro between tonights gfs and ggem....we got a combined 0 inches...during the best pattern of the year685b33eb06faf6ae579cc851092a5b67.jpg

I tend to agree , at least I got 4 a couple weeks ago , not sure how much you guys got.... But it only takes 1 storm to make us all happy.... We are like a football team trying to sneak into the playoffs at 9 & 7 and who knows what happens if we do..... Time is running out but we still have a chance....But If I win the mega millions I most certainly am moving to Maine or the Rockies.....
