0.43” on the month at DCA. If we get less than .32” over the next few days, it’ll be the 2nd driest May on record. Currently -6” on the year.
Turned out to be a rather pleasant afternoon down here , some clouds mixed with blue skies , all be it rather disappointing to see the rain as far west as southern Indiana and not a single drop here.. less monthly rain than DCA here..

Little farther up 81 in VA sitting at .34 inches for the entire month...

Typical clipper-like outcome from this system. We need to get away from this La Niña, w/nw flow style of a pattern and get the Gulf of Mexico/Atlantic involved again on a more consistent basis.
Agreed , 100%.... Trying to get grass and landscaping looking good and growing at our house that was rebuilt last summer , I would like to get consistent moisture this spring and early summer - except for that 1 Thursday morning it just hasn't happened down here...

Nice rain this morning, had 0.11 at 7 am report time, around 0.15 since then and still lightly raining.
Just clouds up here....really need some rain up here... less than half inch since that Thursday downpour 2.5 weeks ago...Saturday at work just to our east in Charlottesville it was a deluge , here .03..
-
Finished with .03 ....

With alittle bit of light rain so far today , that puts it at only .25 in the 10 days since the deluge, gotten kind of dry down here again despite the cooler temps last week.... we missed most of the 2nd storm last sunday and the upper level low showers at the beginning of last week.. may have been just a jackpot rain event in a overall drought pattern..

2.37 down here in Waynesboro, previous total since March 1st had only been 2.48.... double the 2 month total in one night. Much needed..

With no rainfall with this system so far down here along 64 between Cville and Waynesboro it's starting to get rather dry.... streamflows are starting to show signs of the dryness now....

Was snowing pretty hard up on the Blue Ridge Parkway alittle bit ago around the Humpback Back rocks area & a couple of other colder spots up there... didn't expect that... We like to ride up there sometimes at night being close to Afton... really peaceful... But it was a bit too cold for the Ms up there tonight...

Finished with 2.65 inches of snow/ice mix...Only pure 'legit' snow was .75 on March 12... The rest was a bunch of crunchy sleety icy mix events...

Actually snowing moderately to heavy in Waynesboro but not sticking to anything ...
About 1/4 of a inch I guess on the grass/mulch now...heavier snow dropped the temp back to 33 allowing it to stick alittle bit now...

Probably down to a 10 day window with maybe 2 or 3 shortwaves to score something.
Ite like being down 2 tds at the 2 minute warning with Carson Wentz at QB.
Well using your analogy , maybe we do still have a shot at a hail mary storm... As the inept Jets pulled out a win just like that with Flacco at qb this past season albeit against a equally inept Browns team..

Rain & 36 in Waynesboro...
-
For such a never ending parade of systems this month, total liquid precip down here this month is only .67 inches.... been a month of drizzle or light freezing rain/sleet...

I think we were in the teens with sleet in C'ville.
Yes, out in western Albemarle we got less than a hour of snow then pure sleet for the storm duration... measured 7.5 inches of sleet....

A few snow flakes , light snow showers made it over the Apps into Waynesboro 2nite, usually doesn't happen , but it's a bit breezy down here 2nite so that'll do it...
