  1. If I wasn't iced in, and it wasn't dangerous as hell to try any driving right now, I'd want to drive there just to experience the warmth, lol.
  2. One place I've been wondering about is one of the few wunderground weather stations in the New River Valley in the Cumberland mountains about half way between me and John I was thinking they might hold on to cold air for a long time, but nope:
  3. Back here in the eastern end of the state, some folks are living the dream just SW of Cosby: Must be a primo downslope area
  4. HRRR and NAM and RGEM show the end to most of the precip for your area @WishingForWarmWeather by around 3-4PM> Radar makes that look like it is pretty much on schedule with the back end currently in ArkLaTX region. I wouldn't be surprised though if there are still some flurries/ freezing drizzle into the evening though.
  5. I'll try to pull some gifs for you @WishingForWarmWeather 0.25" - 0.30" ice accretion as far as I can tell IMBY. The pagoda lives! Fire time:
  6. Highly acceptable in these circumstances. A body has to keep warm after all. Finally lost power around 3am. We'll see what the world looks like when we get some daylight. Only about 2000 out in my utility district in Morgan and Roane counties, so not as bad as I could be. Come on 40s!
  7. Neighbor is hearing trees falling down outside. I'm sitting inside and running all the electrical things as long as I can. Fortune favors the stubborn.
  8. I can kind of see it there, but I have no idea what that is using for a base layer. I've just been trying to go by Wunderground obs to see if they are verifying in some way.
  9. Ice accrual device: I wish I could hang the beer can up, but I'm not sure how to work that out without a mini net.
  10. One thing I did notice making that HRRR gif, is that it is trying to help erode the warm nose from downsloping: Also the weird "fingers" aren't as apparent on how the HRRR initializes temps, but they are still there in its dewpoint rendering: I looked at DPs on Wunderground's weather station map and I can't really see it except maybe in one place near Erwin.
  11. As of right now, I'm not seeing any of the weird "fingers" we were looking at wrt the Nolichuky and French Broad Valleys, just typical downslope warming.
  12. Honestly, it looks pretty typical to me. See if you can grab a screenshot of what you see on the below
  13. HRRR sees the break out near Clarksville and points west, but seems to want to fill precip. back in quickly as the evening wears on. I'm not sure it will fill back in as quickly as the HRRR thinks, but I'm 100% sure there is more coming when the second slug of moisture back in TX starts to swing though around daybreak tomorrow.
  14. Not really. I was pretty well committed to about what I’ve seen so far. Light snow to sleet and now freezing rain. I guess it is just a waiting game to see how much accrues. I was just posting the radar pic in TX because of how convective the precip looked. Maybe an area that manages to hold on to lower temps longer gets some thunder ZR lol!
