We honestly have probably picked up 1.5-2 inches in 30 minutes. Unbelievable Y'all can see the massive difference in the pic taken 30 minutes earlier. -

Flakes are really getting bigger here now. The band over mascot is super heavy. All of this just in time for sun down. . -
We had a nice 30 minute burst 2900 feet up here off ski mountain road. It covered the roads and probably picked up a quick half inch. It has let up now but the bands are starting to build and strengthen upstream .

We have hit a break in the action here up on Ski Mountain road. We don't have more than a heavy dusting at the moment. The flakes we have had so far have been very small. The waiting game is the hardest part. -
RGEM and NAM really show totals racking up later this evening and into the overnight hours. I remember being in pigeon forge for the Christmas 2010 storm and we got 1-2 inches during the day on Christmas, but it hammered that night and we woke up to easily half a foot all over the place.

We did have a light dusting on the vehicles and grass before we left the cabin around 8:30. Currently enjoying breakfast at Crocketts breakfast camp and then making a couple of errands before staying in for the rest of the day. . -
Yes sir, I try to make a trip each winter to here, Maggie valley, or lake Toxaway. Went to lake Toxaway this time last year and got almost 2 feet. My last two snows here in gatlinburg have been 1-3 inch events. I’m hopefully for 3+ out of this one. .

Nothing at 2900 feet next to Ober yet. Really banking on tonight and this afternoon being the good stuff. .

I’m really excited for this one. Always enjoy hanging out with y’all for an event or two in the winter and get to pretend I’m a mountain liver. We will be arriving late tomorrow night in Gatlinburg and will be ready to go. Looking forward to it! Son is almost 2 and is starting to realize things a little more. . -

Booked a cabin at the top of ski mountain road in Gatlinburg at 3,000 feet. That is pretty high for that area, so fingers crossed we get a nice event. Hoping for 1-3. . -

Good morning! It is that time of year again and I hope to make a trip to the mountains again this year for a storm. I have a quick question in regards to GEFS/EPS maps. What is the best station in regards to the location of Lake Toxaway/Highlands North Carolina for me to keep bookmarked on my weather model page? -

Buckethead, I am in love with all the pictures you post. You have got to be in one of the best spots in the southeast for upslope snow and just awesome wildlife. I follow you on Instagram as well. I need to come stay with you on one of these NWFS setups. Truly enjoy your pictures and posts. -

It is lightly snowing here again. It hasn’t completely stopped at any point. The lake down below looks like it is turning white. looks like there is a layer of ice on top and the snow has stuck to it. Can’t wait for sunrise.
