    Light snow and already a dusting on the grassy and elevated surfaces for now. I am 3,000 feet off Ski Mointain Road in Gatlinburg. .

    Leaving Birmingham this morning to head to Gatlinburg. All models I’ve seen this morning have really started to jack up the totals up that way. If we don’t have mixing issues then I see 8+ being possible. Good luck to everyone on the storm! .

    I’m all about the Mountain Views. After looking at ensembles and reading the NWS discussion, I feel they are both in good spots. I’m just looking for 2-4 and I feel it’s a safe bet with a ceiling that could be higher since temps will be so cold. Seems to be a maximizing of moisture over sevier county on several of the models. .

    Any chance the weekend system could continue to trend towards a snowier look for the mtns? Do yall think it could be frozen precip type for the whole event if you have elevation? .

    12z eps defy supports what you’re talking about on the charts. I’ve been keeping up with these for 3-4 weeks now and by far most aggressive, if only we can reel one in. I’m ready to visit my mountain folks! Keep getting the rug pulled .

    EPS has all of a sudden gotten back to some monster members for the weekend system again. Maybe I’ll make it to the mountains for a big one! .

    I keep trying to find a storm to chase into the mountains but they all keep fizzling out on me. Hoping the weekend system won’t fizzle for next week but it’s been tough so far. .

    Sun down and everything is covered with about 2 inches of snow on the ground! Hoping we can make a run at 6 inches tonight. If we can get the bands to setup over us then I think the chances are good! Good luck to all tonight! .

    We are in another lull, but that was an insane hour or two. Tonight is gonna be fun!

    We honestly have probably picked up 1.5-2 inches in 30 minutes. Unbelievable Y'all can see the massive difference in the pic taken 30 minutes earlier.
