  1. Some how Talbot County always maximizes the dead zone, not exactly sure what factors cause that to happen
  2. As with most winter weather events this year, this is another case of not being our storm. Sounds like maybe an inch of snow for my area before a transition to other forms of wintery precip, which may or may not change to cold rain depending on the speed of the storm. MESOS also showing precip missing the Eastern Shore in the beginning which would make snow accumulation even tougher. Our friends in Charles, Calvert, and northern St Mary's have a chance of nice, albeit short, front end thump.
  3. I'm fully expecting 32.7 degrees and rain on Thursday, much like last night.
  4. Holler at us in the southern md/lower eastern shore sub if there starts to be appreciable winter weather threat south of Baltimore Corner, otherwise hibernation mode starts until the @Lowershoresadness storm shows up on guidance again at the end of the month.
  5. Probably the right call, at .25" here, no road issues. If this would have come at night it would have been a completely different story.
  6. About .25" accretion just eyeing the trees, might be slightly more on the surfaces that froze earlier in the day. 29.7 now. Roads just wet for now.
  7. Yeah, down to 29.7 here, only surfaces that are shaded or very light color have decent accretion. If this were at night or mid 20s might be more interesting. Looks like precip will pull out before 5 pm.
  8. Yeah temp 30 down here too, stuck in a dry slot per usual, dp is 21.5 for what that is worth. The little bit of rain from earlier did not freeze on the cars so I do not foresee this frza event causing any issues.
  9. Not sure why or how, but Easton always finds the dry slot, even during a fzra event
  10. I don't remember that storm, but looked up the weather archive on Mount Holly and apparently Easton had 0.25" of fzra from that storm. That March gave us some nice snows.
  11. Does anyone remember the last time an ice storm actually had ice accretion on roads and sidewalks? I have a memory of a storm in the early 00s when I lived in Baltimore County where we had some snow that must have changed over to frza and some friends were able to ice skate down sidewalks. I don't think this storm has enough cold air and the ground is not cold enough to do that except maybe nw of the fall line. I would imagine an arctic airmass that is in place long enough to freeze the soil would be needed to really have ice accretion on paved surfaces. BTW what happened to that arctic air we were supposed to get around now?
  12. 29.7, rain starting might have heard a ping, waiting for my 0.5" of ice depicted on the Euro to verify
  13. I have not kept up with the potential ice storm, how's it look for our region?
  14. @CAPE thanks for writing up my storm obs! Don't short change us on the hours of freezing rain and sleet....
  15. Dusting in Easton, looks like Cambridge south go in on some decent snow.
  16. Good to know, I have been under greens over in Talbot with nothing falling.
  17. Yeah the radar representation of precip is off for a large portion of our area
