  1. First inch down. Snow picking up. Looks like a heavy moderate. 17F/13F. The MESO's look insane here overnight! Hope to be buried in the morning!
  2. A couple of small flakes here and there. So virga city. So cold and dry not worth reporting temp and dewpoint lol. Trying ouzo as a pre storm lube. Greek snow power ftw??? Gettin ready for the big rip!! .
  3. It was fun, but my legs are feeling it today!! .
  4. Gore was great today. My first day telemarking lol. Went ok, glad I could still parallel and ski bumps as needed. Exhausted! First lift line was 20 min. After that longest line was 8 min. Skies onto the lift several times. Snow was soft with nice bumps here and there. Brought a small rug to put boots on. People were good with social distancing and masks. Great first day! .
  5. Looks good! Can’t wait to get out there. Hopefully not too much warm rain coming. Let’s hope the base holds up and they don’t have to start over. Gore and Whiteface are planning on Friday but I bet it gets pushed back. .
  6. No early season for me. Wife just tested positive and I also threw my back out yesterday. [emoji13] .
  7. I spent too much on the name brand. Seems super high quality though. https://buffusa.com/search-buff/Filter%20tube .
  8. Nice Scott! Did everything run smooth Covid wise? How many people compared to a normal opening day? .
  9. I just bought a Buff filter tube. Seems really nice. Comes with 5 filters. I don’t plan on changing them as often as they recommend. .
  10. Rut roh. Here we go, from Vermont... CROSS STATE TRAVEL INFORMATION The State of Vermont has suspended its leisure travel map and implemented a mandatory quarantine for anyone returning or traveling to Vermont. Leisure Travel Due to raising COVID-19 case counts across the Northeast, effective on November 10, 2020, the State of Vermont has suspended its leisure travel map and implemented a mandatory quarantine for anyone returning or traveling to Vermont. A regional map will continue to be maintained on the Agency of Commerce and Community Development and the Department of Financial Regulation websites for informational purposes only. The regional map will continue to be updated weekly on Tuesdays. The regional map is populated with raw data from Johns Hopkins University and uses multiple factors to determine how many active cases are in each county. Read the complete methodology for how active cases per million residents is being calculated. The aggregated data by county is also available. Awwwww[emoji90] .
  11. A year ago tomorrow skied top to bottom at Killington. Different years, different fears. Slowwwww start to winter!! .
  12. https://planetski.eu/2020/10/29/covid-19-cases-surge-in-europe-with-serious-worries-for-start-of-ski-season/ Europe ain’t lookin so good. Yikes. .
  13. Woke up to snow falling and a light coating. Woot! .
  14. Currently there are no planned limits to ticket sales at Gore and Whiteface. They’re waiting for direction from Cuomo and the Olympic authority. Makes me a bit worried about lift lines. .
  15. Makes sense. Hopefully the skiers don’t show up in hoards and ignore the rules. The old “don’t be the reason we lose our season” slogan. I’m a rule follower lol with a good dose of guilt, so I’m sticking to NY this winter. Gonna shred those slides at Whiteface!! .
  16. My big question is what do they do about the county by county travel restrictions. If they were open today, there are so few counties outside of VT where you could “legally” travel from and ski without quarantino. How strict will they be? How about for season pass holders. I haven’t been able find this mentioned in any of the VT ski areas websites? Anyone hear anything? .
  17. Crazy contrast. 121F in CA and then snow in Rockies! Gotta love it!! .
  18. I completely agree. It’s gonna take a while to roll out. .
  19. Well, I don’t want to say that I hope I can’t go to VT this year, but I did just drop $759 (went up to $919 on 9/3) on my first ever season pass for N.Y. mountains lol. Tough calls this year. Now we wait and see what happens. If cases skyrocket this winter, might turn into a skinning / backcountry winter. Time shall tell. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Love it! Wait, when did Alteri’s close? When did you work there? .
  21. Think I’m going to bite the bullet and get a Gore /Whiteface/ Bellayre pass this week. I like how they are working towards carbon neutral and staying in state seems like the safest bet. Now hopefully it will be a rare blockbuster ADK winter.... you know.... like we used to have in the good old days. When there is good snow, Gore and Whiteface are fantastic mountains. $399 for my niece and $759 for me, unlimited at all 3 mountains with 1 free guest ticket, 1 50% off guest ticket, free XC skiing and fall foliage rides. Not to shabby. .
