  1. 19" at Killington!?!? Weird upslope event. Taconics got more than southern Vermont mountains. Driving to Stratton you could see that accumulations were all over the place. Looks like Killington even opened some natural trails. Powerline and Ridge Run.Nice start for them.
  2. Hit Stratton today. Decent amount of terrain. Several top to bottom runs. Gondola and another lift went on wind hold. Could still get to top. Very windy and cold. Not used to the cold yet lol. Still a fun day but 4 runs was enough for us lol. .
  3. Looks like last nights run. Init 0Z Wed. .
  4. Sugarbush opens tomorrow. Stratton delayed until Sat. 12-14 trails, 5 lifts. .
  5. Stratton planning on 12 trails with top to bottom opening on Wednesday. Boom. They have a serious snowmaking system. And their trails are wide so they get those acres open. Damn!!! .
  6. I was wondering if ski areas ever use chair lifts for regular downloading? Killington has the K1 Gondola which makes it easier, especially since it's designed to be ridden with skis off. Picture people downloading on a chairlift while holding their skis. I don't think they would do that. Sound like a clusterfudge.
  7. Ahhh, makes sense. Suspenseful! [emoji897] .
  8. What are the measurement requirements? I noticed that they had a ton of guns on the top and bottom of Superstar last week but not on the one bottom middle section?
  9. I went with IKON this year. It's my first "season pass" since my brother worked snowmaking at Stratton in the 80's and family members got free season passes. My son is spending the winter in Boulder so he got an IKON. I'm going out in February to ski Copper, ABasin and Eldora. Got my airfare for $425 before prices went bonkers! For me, splurging on a western trip makes sense this year to ski with my boy. I'm 1 hour to Windham, 1:40 to Stratton and 2:15 to KMart, easy day trips, so I hope to get 20 days in. I try to ski one day each weekend. Would work out to $50 a day. IKON is pricey! I paid $999. Sugarbush is a tough day trip at 3:30. Hoping to do a weekend there. Sugarloaf would be fun but that will probably have to wait until retirement in a couple of years. Long drive! Will finally have time to ski more, but will my knees and back hold up? Irony! Gotta get to Maine to ski at some point. Sunday River looks intriguing.
  10. Gore, Whiteface and Belleayre have no lift lines as of 10am according to the webcams! Guess people are scared of the cold. Guess I shoulda gone today lol. I I assumed it would be packed. People are skiing onto the lifts! .
  11. 4.5" so far. Moderate to occ. heavy. 24.4/23F.
  12. Are the big downsloping deductions in N/S valleys on most of the models believable for this one? I find that with good arctic air in place at low levels, that often gets minimized. Some of the model runs have given the NE part of my county 4” and 24”+ in the higher elevations of the sw part of the county. Insane! Thoughts? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. 3.4" - not snowing right now.
  14. Very impressed with Gore this year. Got a season pass so I’m finally skiing it enough to learn the mountain. Super complicated lol. True, when there’s lots of snow, the tree skiing and lift lines are awesome. .
  15. Now that’s a pic!!!! The color contrast is striking!! .
  16. Oh dang! Sorry to hear that! Get well soon!!! Any symptoms? .
  17. Yes, thanks! It’s great how you can always parallel turn anytime with the new equipment! .
  18. Gore was fun today. 4” fresh. 31 trails. No lines. 2nd day trying tele. Getting there. It’s fun to be a beginner again!! .
  19. Anyone ski since the deluge? Crowds, ice, injuries galore? .
  20. Got a fresh inch of snow this evening. Huge parachutes. Whitened up the snow banks. .
  21. http:// https://nyskiblog.com/forum/threads/belleayre-conditions.658/page-7 .
  22. Belleayre got messed up! 6.5” of rain caused a huge slab of snow to crash through the lodge!! .
  23. Hmmmm. I’ve had the opposite experience. It seems to work flawlessly at the ORDA NY mountains (Gore, Whiteface, Bellayre). I have found it to work great at other mountains too. .
  24. Great day at Belleayre. Some of the natural snow trails were in pretty good shape with soft bumps. Found a cool lean-to. .
  25. My student teacher in Schenectady measured 28.5” at 7:30am! And then there’s BGM LOL!! .
