  1. Took the dog out to a surprise 3/4” accumulation overnight.
  2. After this mornings low of 17F a warming trend will be underway starting tonight. Should stay nice and mild through the holiday.
  3. Always good to have a NWS office with a sense of humor.
  4. MSP is crushing it with 2.8” on the day from the legit snow squall. 17.6” on the books for the 20/21 season. Anyone else in the subforum besides maybe Will or Bo have more?
  5. 0.8” at the noon observation, it’s been continuously snowing, although lighter rates now. Gonna end up around 1.5”-2”
  6. +SN for sure right now. Visibility under 100 yards. Doesn’t get much better then this
  7. Section of Interstate 94 is closed in NW metro due to multiple accidents including a jackknifed semi on fire.
  8. City getting impacted by the narrowest section of the band
  9. Radars got that squall line look to it. Should be some impressive rates here later on this morning.
  10. Spoils to the victor I guess. Sure hope we don’t pay for this early season luck later on.
  11. Hopefully the first 1” accumulation of the year during first week of December is a big dog and you get it then.
  12. HRRR did a fairly good job at depicted where the mix line would setup. (Right over the heart of the metro)
  13. Yep, finished with 5.5” officially which sets a new daily record for the date (5.0 in 1896) and brings our seasonal total up to 14.8” We had a few hours of +SN and the pivot worked out for us. Oh what could have been if we hadn’t had the ice earlier...
  14. Snow is wrapping up measured an average of 4.80” over 3 spots in the backyard. Solid slush/crust layer from this mornings wintry mix with powdery snow on top.
  15. Stacking nicely atm but this will end in my neck of the woods sooner then later. Airport will probably end up 3-4” while west metro and areas closer to Duluth see 6-8”
  16. Thanks for robbing us of moisture guys. Jk enjoy the storms.
  17. 50/50 liquid frozen right now. Totals will definitely take a hit imby but west metro should still clean up.
  18. Now the NWS is saying mostly -FZRN and -FZDZ here until 6pm then heavy snow accumulating 4-5” what a dynamic situation.
  19. I’m working in the east metro (Woodbury) right now where it is primarily sleet currently. My home is 1.5 miles due north of the MSP airport so I’ll see what it’s doing there when I’m home in a few hours
  20. Yikes hopefully things cool off a bit more. Was worried we’d be on the eastern edge. Getting some sleet and snow mix right now. Actually becoming mostly snow as I type this.
  21. This is the kind of messaging I love waking up to. Should be a fun afternoon. “Winter Storm Warning URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN 452 AM CST Tue Nov 10 2020 ...ICE STORM WARNING FOR PORTIONS OF FAR SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA TODAY... ...A BAND OF HEAVY SNOW WITH SOME FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED THROUGH TONIGHT FOR SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA INTO WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN... ...SOME SHIFTING OF THIS BAND EAST OR WEST IS STILL POSSIBLE... .A complex system is taking aim at the region, bringing a myriad of weather impacts through the late evening hours. Freezing rain is expected across extreme southern Minnesota where up to one quarter inch of ice may accumulate along with a slushy inch of snow. Further north, a narrow swath of heavy snow looks to set roughly along a line from Mankato to the Twin Cities to Luck WI. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for this area where 4 to 7 inches of snow is expected. Timing of the heaviest snow will from the early afternoon through the evening commute. Isolated higher snow totals are possible, but it will be highly dependent on the track of the storm. Lesser amounts in the 2 to 5 inch range are expected on either side of this band, where a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect. Use caution if traveling and monitor further updates to the forecast, as even small shifts in the track could greatly alter the expected impacts.”
