Upper 60s with dews in the low 50s and a breeze. This is top shelf summer weather.

Yeah we’ve finally broken the heat and high dew points here after sweltering through much of July, windows are open for the first time in what seems like forever. Always jealous of the natural A/C the lake provides up there. Next week looks nearly perfect around here finally. I’ve being hearing that the northland has been overrun by urbanites this summer and generally trashing many areas. Sad. Typically my wife and I like to spend a few weekends hiking the SHT each summer as we are avid outdoors people, but she tore her ACL skiing in early March and had surgery in late May so we’ve been staying put this summer. My cabin fever is running high so I imagine we’ll be doing a lot of camping in September/October.

Winds out of the NE this evening. Don’t see that too often around here in late July.

I learned something new today. “Mega-Rain” is apparently an official metrological term for a storm that produces six inches of rain or more over roughly 1000 square miles. Massive rain totals centered around Mankato last night where 8” fell. Blue Earth and Nicollet counties hit hardest with widespread 4-5”+ while we finished with 1.00” imby

Dews are 20 degrees lower here then this time yesterday. Feels like a different world.

Storms rolled through here around 3am while weakening. MSP managed a 55MPH gust. Widespread 2-3" rain totals up north where they really needed it.

MPX afd mentioned the D word. (Derecho) should be a very impressive mcs moving out of ND this evening. Going to be a fun night of radar tracking.

Low of 59 this morning which is the first sub 60 temperature this July. Managed a high of 79 yesterday so our 80 streak is over. Gave the A/C a break and opened the windows up last night.

Yesterday in Minneapolis our temperature departure was only +3 with low 60 dews. Felt autumnal.

High of 93 and max heat index of 102 here yesterday.

Just woke up to our first severe thunderstorm warning of the year to the unmistakable sound of hail hitting the roof.

Decaying MCS over central and northern Minnesota delivering some much needed rains. We've been getting hit with just enough pop up storms the past few days to avoid any drought issues in the metro. Today looks hot

91 with a dew of 70 back in Minnesota. Made the decision yesterday to drive six hours southeast to Highland Park IL for some lake cooled air and to visit friends. Crazy how much nicer dews in the mid 60s feel. Happy Independence Day everyone!

No relief in sight for my a/c.

Dew up to 75 in Minneapolis. Breeze and partly cloudy skies are the only things keeping the heat stroke at bay.

Another half inch of rain overnight with some of the loudest house shaking thunder I’ve experienced in a few years. Probably will lose 30 pounds of sweat working outside in these dews today.

The Mississippi River has been as low as I’ve seen in my 4 years living in Minneapolis. Was hoping to see some of the islands near Fort Snelling really grow this summer. Darn.

Getting some nice wind gusts from the south. Won’t feel this nice outside for a week with the dews in the forecast.
