  1. Will be a typical dry and seasonable MSP winter week ahead with the exception of Wednesday. Might even get a below zero low tomorrow night or late week which have been severely lacking this year. Still have a crusty 7" snow depth but the "warm" 35F temps wrecked havoc on the deck snow which didn't have the frozen insulating ground. Puppy sighting in the upper left corner of the yard.
  2. Flipped to light drizzle/rain with some wet flakes under the lighter returns through most of this afternoon and evening. Total slopfest imby. We definitely lost some snowpack and added about 3/4” of moisture to the 6-7” that remain. Crazy at one point blizzard warnings were only a county or two west of us. Never had much of any wind here. Southern metro and points south did well. In fact there was nearly twice as much snowfall only 20 miles south of me. My prospective of this storm might have been completely different. Guess I’ll see tomorrow when I ski Welch Village which picked up 5”
  3. 3” of new snow. 9” depth. There’s just no cold air.
  4. There’s just no cold air. Light snow all night but temps stayed above freezing so doesn’t look like much if any accumulated. We might have lost snow depth
  5. HRRR says only 3” here this round. Guess I’ll see in the morning.
  6. Over 30” on the season. 6 otg with a nice refresher storm tonight and we’ve been abnormally dry since late summer.
  7. North central Iowa should do well. We lost some of what fell in round one due to temps holding in the mid 30s during the lull. 33.1F on the PWS but we should fall into the 20s in the next couple hours. Dusting so far with round 2
  8. Round 2 underway. Expecting to be slightly underwhelmed, but holding out hope we can achieve our 4th 6” storm of the season.
  9. Waiting on round two to ramp up. Looks like things have shifted south a bit and I’m now on the far northern edge of the heavier snow. 4-7” of additional accumulation expected across the metro.
  10. Flake size has been great so far. Light to moderate snow but stacking very efficiently
  11. This project will never be done. They are doing a deep underground storm water storage system similar to what Chicago attempted with the big dig. over an inch of new snow so far today. Cotton-balls falling
  12. Today’s job site right off Interstate 35W south of downtown
  13. Tried to post the backyard webcam but apparently it’s over 1.95mb in size and it’s difficult to resize from my phone while working outside in this weather.
  14. 33 and light rain/drizzle here. 6-10” forecast later this afternoon and tonight. Certainly been a MN/IA winter so far. Might push 40” on the season after all is said and done with this system.
  15. NWS going bullish with snow totals, and I can’t blame them. Model trends certainly in our favor up here. Going to be a nowcast event, someone will get screwed.
  16. Should be a nice prolonged light snow event here to refresh our slowly diminishing snowpack.
  17. Another day of dense fog and a dab of snow throughout the day. Snowpack holding strong at 8” with temps busting low today. Didn’t break 19F
  18. Around sunrise the past two mornings in the endless dense fog we’ve been experiencing light snow develops and has producing a dusting to 0.2” Probably a great setup for cloud seeding.
  19. Wow trend cannot be denied. Looks like blizzard conditions very well will be imby tomorrow. P&C at 5-9” with gusts to 50mph. Rare full forecasters discussions write up at 8:45pm. Worth the read.
  20. You guys really needed it, glad the clipper worked out for the north shore.
