  1. -25 with a -55 windchill. Went outside for a few minutes, didn’t take long at all to feel cold with 3 layers on. It just goes right through you. My exposed face was very uncomfortable facing the wind immediately, I could tell that I’d have big problems if outside for 10 minutes or more. It’s dangerous out there right now.
  2. -23 here, still dropping around a degree an hour.
  3. 7pm obs at msp: -21 air temp with a windchill of -51.
  4. -19 now at msp. -20 at the neighborhood pws.
  5. Hourly Obs at MSP at -17 now. Sun about to set and then we make our run for -30!
  6. -15F winds of 25 gusting to 36 with a windchill of -44F and we have another hour of daylight! Stepped outside to run some errands and the wind just absolutely obliterates any exposed skin.
  7. MSP noon observation. -7F with a windchill of -31F.
  8. -1 at MSP, -1.7 here, which will be the high temperature for January 29th 2019. Let’s see how many hours we stay below zero.
  9. 4.9” officially at MSP. Well short of the 8-12” forecasted by NWS yesterday and yet more then doubles our largest snow of the season.
  10. A little over 4” here. First grass covering snow since November.
  11. Moderate snow building in intensity here. Really nice to finally have a legit snow this season. NWS calling for 8-12” but I think we will end up on the lower end of that.
  12. I won’t be fully sold on a the current northern consensus that nails MSP until the nowcast and radar trend time. Been burned by last minutes shifts too often this winter. Right now feel good about a solid 4-6” to help usher in the polar blast.
  13. Another 0.4” this morning with the arctic front. Have actually built up a respectable 1” snowpack.... Already -5F. Daytime temps never got above 4F. Love this weather.
  14. 0.4” at MSP. Brings monthly total up to 0.6”
  15. Just can’t score anything this season in Minneapolis. Haven’t been outside yet but looks like 1/2” would be a stretch. Futility continues...
  16. 18z NAM says Minneapolis snow futility will continue.
  17. Finally might cover my brown lawn for the first time in a month. Of course MSP is in the screwhole but the 2-4” over the next 48 hours will be our largest snow to date.
  18. Actually getting some very light snow in Minneapolis, but no accumulation. Friend in the south metro said close to an inch.
  19. Yep the HRRR has been awful for the metro today. Haven’t seen more then a stray flake or two so far and I work outside. Was never really expecting anything from this system.
  20. 3km Nam is giving me hope to see some flakes today. I guess MN gain is IL pain.
  21. I think you mean April 2018 which was incredible and the snowiest April ever at MSP. Last year was pretty good in my opinion, I believe we finished with over 70” However it has been really bad here this winter, especially watching the rest of the sub-forum cash in lately. Outside the sloppy 2” which transitioned into 0.75” of rain in late December, MSP hasn’t recorded an inch of snow since early December. Only a Trace has been recorded this month. 0.6” is the low bar and honestly the futility record feels in play.
  22. Selfishly for mby let’s go #18. Realistically though I’d be feeling really good if I were in northern Ohio. Looks like a really nice hit.
  23. Yet another storm that will miss MSP to the south. Really fun to track all these systems but would be better if I had some skin in the game.
  24. Looks like another whiff to the south. Going to have some deep ground frost with no snow insolating things before the deep freeze.
