  1. And most of that came since this morning after rush hour.
  2. Only the transit rd thruway cam shows visible snow falling.
  3. I'm right across the street and it's barely snowing
  4. So can anyone verify amounts north and northeast of the city? Looking up wind at the radar off lake Huron the band affecting the northern 1/2 of the Niagara Frontier looks very strong and shows no sign of letting up...this was not forecasted.
  5. Don't westerly winds focus on the boston hills southe to northern Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Co's???
  6. Quite a snowburst up in Niagara county right now and looks to have a connection to Lake Huron.
  7. Yeah at this juncture it looks to be deep southtowns. Oh well. We had our chance yesterday and we got a case of whoop ass instead.
  8. Just caught cantore on TWC state the airport picked up 5.4" yesterday on a record 1.13" of liquid! Damn we were about 5 degrees away from a pretty decent event.
  9. Quite the fantasyland snowstorm on the 6z GOOFUS...
  10. NWS discusses the LES potential next week as east of the lakes but a significant event looking likely at this time.
  11. Hey has anyone looked at the 12z Euro on pivotal weather? The system for Friday am is completely gone per that run...was there feedback issues with that run?
  12. The amazing thing is the wrf model nailed this event...it had the bullseye well inland from the lake NE of the city.
  13. I'm really starting to think the sweet spot was right the main Street area of Clarence. Once I get out of my neighborhood (1 mile) snow depth increases dramatically each street you get to and as you head east the depth gets greater. It would make sense as that's where the area of greatest convergence was. Last evening I noticed the band would make it to my house but then would wobble south a bit and the wind direction would change to more westerly.
  14. Only thing that scares me about that set up is the winds tearing apart the lake bands. I would hope the winds would still be SW and slacked by a good bit.
  15. Depends how far inland you were...where I live in east Williamsville theres more snow than Williamsville near the walker center...the setup was very marginal from the onset of this event. Lackawanna by the toll barriers has a lot less that areas just east of there by quite a bit.
  16. If it's like the transit 400 pic that's awesome to see
  17. Agreed...yes the areas doing the best seem to be Lancaster, Clarence, west Seneca/ elma area...
  18. I will say however since I left the office about 2 hours ago another 2" piled up here on Cayuga Dr across from the airport...im guessing close to 5" here...roads are a disaster and it is the soupiest snow I've witnessed in a long time.
  19. Not much happening on the northern extent of the band...in fact I'm kinda right in the thick of it and it's snowing but lightly and mixing with rain.
  20. Today is just strange all around, just drive home to my house in Williamsville after leaving a meeting in NT and I hit moderate snow right around youngs and Klein. Nothing was falling anywhere before that.
  21. From this far out it looks to give everyone from the Niagara Frontier to the deep southtowns their fair share.
  22. Same...or at least a home that has pretty significant value...my house isn't cheap and upgrades make it more expensive to repair/replace. I see events like that much differently than I previously did.
