Yeah, but I honestly can’t recall the last time it rained here on Halloween evening.  Bummer if it happens this year, but it is rare.

2019. Although the bulk of the rain and storms held off until after peak trick-or-treat hours.

  2. Did anyone else just notice that dot of light (like a planet or star) moving through the sky overhead (~70 deg. from the horizon over the SE sky, 20 deg. from vertical) in a NE-direction around 6:54pm? It seemed to be moving too fast to be the ISS but too slow to be a meteorite. The light flickered a bit. Maybe some space debris?

  3. IAD bottoming out at 33F for a third morning in a row.

*Correction: IAD hit 33F both Tuesday morning and before 5:00 utc Wednesday which counts as two 33F readings for Tuesday. IAD was 34F for a low between 5z Wed and 4:59z Thursday. This morning IAD hit 33F.

    Tues: 33F

    Wed: 34F

    Thu: 33F

Pretty windy and warmish after a low of 40. 71 now.

Leaves are comin down in earnest. First round of actual leaf blowing today.

Speaking of wind, this moment 68 years ago was windier in these parts.

  5. With the obvious caveats (It's October and ssts can and will change, other things such as MJO etc. can drive the winter pattern more than other factors, etc.) aside, I don't particularly hate the current SST anomaly configuration in the northeastern Pacific (165W-120W).

Never fails.  My birthday is almost always the warmest day of the month.  Every year.

Thankfully, the front is through out here.  Left steamy winchester at 78F and got out here at 69F and falling.  Feels great out right now.

    Happy Birthday to you!

I have some great news- our youngest son is back home today and recovering well. Thanks for the well wishes everyone, it means a lot to us.

It’s insane how bad RSV can get for babies- ours was a completely healthy 11-month-old with no underlying health issues beforehand. Though the Doctors and nurses all told me this has been a very bad strain they’ve seen circulating recently. And him getting flu A just two weeks before didn't help either.

He’s out in time for his first birthday at least!

Extremely happy to hear this! Hoping for a full recovery and a very happy birthday for him!

Looks like 1” like most here.

Big af dry slot… I don’t like dry slots even in all rain events.

Only time it’s good is when it cuts precip off just when a changeover happens

More specifically, a changeover from snow to something closer to rain. ;)
